I’m just looking to get peoples experiences of a chemical pregnancy ? Did your cycles return to normal quickly afterwards ? Did your clinic allow you to transfer another embryo within your next cycle or were you asked to wait ?
Currently experiencing chemical pregnancy from a natural FET 5aa transfer , clinic closed until 29th so just looking for any advice or words of wisdom

Im sorry that is hasn't worked out Loz! Ive had a chemical and once I stopped the meds I bled around 5 days later. My cycles went almost pretty much back to normal give or take a day or two. My clinic were a little bit fuzzy and wanted me to have the withdrawal bleed then I was able to start on my second natural bleed. Im sure clinics all have different ideas though....hopefully you will get a word with them once they reopen. Sending hugs.xx
Thank you , not the best timing on Christmas Eve but partly glad it’s started so it can be over with so I can get on 😞❤️. Sorry about your chemical , so cruel when you think this is your chance and then it’s snatched away from you so soon , that’s good about your cycles , I think by the time I’ve got my follow up I may have had a full cycle anyway so it may work out ok having a break over Christmas - thanks for responding all that info was really useful xxx
Its never a good time for these things to happen but I always think this time of year is hard going! I hope you are able to enjoy some of the festivities once you get your head around it all.xxx
Sorry to hear about the chemical. It’s such a cruel trick. I had one last year and my period came around the same time as with all other bfn cycles. I just had one now too and the Dr wants me to have a cycle inbetween starting again. I’m secretly glad as I would have soldiered on this month but I think i do need a break over Xmas. Good luck with it xx
I am so so sorry about your chemical. Wishing you love and strength to get through this hard time. My doctor has said to me if this natural FET doesn’t work then i can go straight into another natural FET on this months bleed. Lots of love Frankie xxxxx❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Thanks lovely hope your doing ok now ❤️ Please let me know on OTD how you get on , everything crossed for you ! I think my consultant may say the same you know as he was keen for us to get straight on with a FET after our fresh failed ❤️❤️Xxx
Hey sorry about your chemical - I’ve just had one too from my last round. My clinic said the bleed from your chemical then one ‘normal’ period which should come at the usual ish time and then you can start with your next period - so technically you should be good to go in February xx
Hi daisy sorry to hear you have gone through this as well 😓 thank you for your response hopefully we should be able to get going again in the new year then 🥰🤞🏻 Xx
Hi Loz... I am currently having a chemical pregnancy too from a 2embryo 3dt, my clinic have a back log because of covid so they said I won't get a review apt for a few months even tho I have one blastocyst ready to go 😕 but going to keep trying naturally in the mean time, I hope your clinic is a lot quicker... Fingers crossed we both get good news next time 😊
So sorry this is happening to you 😞 it takes such a toll i hope you are ok , sorry to hear it will be a wait for your follow up ! Where abouts are you based ? I’m hoping to get a follow up by the end of January I am anxious to get this booked in now to occupy my mind xxx have a lovely Christmas thank you for responding
I am in northern Ireland, everything probably moves a bit slower here 😅 but hopefully we won't have to wait too long. I hope u get booked in soon and wishing u lots of luck for next time x take care
Ah I am based in Chester so very far from me ! 😹 our clinic had to shut for 2 weeks due to a Covid outbreak but apart from that they seem to move quickly so fingers crossed , all the best xxxx
Hey I’m truly sorry to hear you are going though this... I have had two chemical pregnancies this year and it is just awful- to make you think this is it and then it’s gone just like that... the only positive I could take away is that you can get pregnant and your body can do it....
Make sure you take the time you need to accept what has happened and feel ready to start your next FET... I felt very withdrawn after my second chemical...
So I bled straight away on stopping progesterone then my next period was a bit delayed then but I was asked to wait for another period and I could count that as my day 1. So the first bleed is after the meds stop then one period (bit late ans heavier for me) ans then started on the next bleed with FER meds.
Hi lovely thank you for responding , sorry to hear you have gone through this twice , I am hopeful now at least that my first pregnancy ( ended in blighted ovum) wasn’t a ‘fluke’ and hopefully we can get our miracle with IVF - trying to take the positives from this shit situation !
I may ask for progesterone on my next cycle as I was a natural I didn’t have any meds at all , so maybe some extra progesterone may help me next time , thank you for your advice , have a lovely Christmas xxx
I had one. Cycles came back to normal quickly. And the doctor said you can do another cycle of IVF right after as long as the HCG goes back to zero meaning it all resolved. Good news is that having a chemical pregnancy increases the chance of success in the next cycle, because it shows you are able to produce embryos with implantation potential 😊
Thank you for your response it seems like my cycles have a good chance of resuming soon then which is good , I am hopeful about our 2 remaining embryos xxx
I’m very sorry to hear you are going through this, it really is awful. I recently had a second chemical and it doesn’t get any less crushing. I was told that I could start after my next period - so the nasty period that comes after stopping the meds doesn’t count, but the next one counts as cycle day 1. I started the nasty period the day after I stopped my meds; it was a bit slow to get to full flow (maybe a couple of days) but then I bled quite heavily and my period went on for about 12 days (lucky me!).
Sending you lots of love at this difficult time. As the others have said, don’t feel discouraged - the fact that the embryo stuck is a very positive sign. The likelihood is simply that it wasn’t chromosomally normal. Look after yourself xxx
So sorry you have had to go through this twice 😞 it’s just awful especially at this time of the year when you can’t escape from everyone else and their little ones. I’ve been bleeding quite heavily since yesterday afternoon so I hope it doesn’t last too long I want to get back into my exercise routine to refocus again 🤞🏻
