Hi everyone, I need some advise, I’m 8 weeks pregnant and I have Coronavirus. I had a scan last week and saw the baby heartbeat, now I’m extremely worried that I would lose this pregnancy because I’m sick. I really don’t care how the virus has effected me, I’ll survive it but how about my Christmas miracle?
I have emailed my clinic and waiting for their advise, I would appreciate if any of you could share experience with me.please be extra careful these days, I am on of those whom been extremely careful but here I am!

I’m sorry your unwell! I haven’t had it personally but there are quite a few threads on other sites of pregnant women who had covid and they were all fine and so was the baby - If it were me once I was better I’d have an extra private scan just to check in on things to put your mind at rest Hope you feel better soon x
It’s really upsetting and I’m worried constantly, I have no morning sickness😢 I don’t know if it’s because I’ve lost taste and smell or something is wrong... I’ve booked myself an appointment on the first day that I’m allowed to leave the house. Xx
Hey hun. O poor u. How unsettling for u. I hope your symptoms aren't too severe? There doesn't seem to be much evidence out there about covid affecting pregnancy. And a lot of people out there are pregnant and have got it (like the other poster said) I think it's more you need to rest and look after yourself and call your midwife for more help. Really hope you get better soon. Xxx
Thank you so much for writing to me, I’ve been reading so much as well and I couldn’t find anything useful... I do hope my baby is ok, it has been a very tough journey as you can imagine. I can leave the house on 26th, I’ve booked myself an ultrasound to check on baby... xx
First of all, try not to worry im sure you & baby will be absolutely fine.
I tested positive for Covid when I was 36+6. I couldn’t believe it. I’d be pretty much self isolating since 28 weeks but hubby is a teacher and there was a mass outbreak at his school, by the time he developed symptoms it was too late. I’d already got it. I was devastated and so worried. My planned c section was 2 weeks away.
Midway through my isolation at 37+4 my waters broke. Baby was breech so i needed an emergency c section the following day. To cut a long story short i gave birth alone while covid positive. It was awful. They didnt test baby when he was born, and he was born perfectly healthy. I breast fed in the hopes my body had developed antibodies for covid i could pass onto him.
He’s now a thriving 7 week old doing amazingly.
My symptoms felt like that of a bad cold. I had a cough, lost my taste & smell & felt achey and lethargic (didnt help that my baby’s head was squashing my lungs at the time). They disappeared after about 4 days, after that i felt fine.
I’m sure all will be ok with your baby. They are so resilient, and tucked away safe and cosy inside xx
Thank you so much for writing to me, I’m so happy you and baby were ok 😍my worries is that it’s very early in pregnancy also I have no pregnancy symptoms anymore, I don’t know is it because I have lost taste and smell or something is really wrong with pregnancy 😢
My friend has just given birth, emergency c-section as he was trying to come out bottom first, and the baby was born perfectly health, as a first pregnancy she couldn’t tell whether she was more tired because of COVID or because of the labour! There’s more evidence to suggest it doesn’t harm the baby than that it does, hopefully that will put you at Ease.. but for now rest up and keep yourself safe ❤️ hoping you get better soon lovely xxx
We’ve had covid in our house but it’s hard to believe as nobody had any symptoms my fiancé gets tested every week at work and was positive, we didn’t isolate from ourselves in the house just carried on as normal nobody was ill and I was in my 1st trimester at the time. He’s took the antibody test so will find out if he’s really had it.
Since then I’ve had 2 more scans all is fine so far.
