TSH 4.3 should I do my FET scheduled tomorrow????

Hi-

Just got my TSH back- it’s 4.3. I’m supposed to have a FET tomorrow. Should I cancel? My Th was .8 just 4 weeks ago. My doctor wanted it below 2.5. My thyroid meds have stayed the same- I’m confused why my levels have gone up! Please help!

Hi Awhittingham. Can you check you're on the crrect dose of levothyroxine?? I assume that is what you are taking. Hope all can go ahead. Diane

Sorry I have only just seen this. The TSH has risen because when you take oestrogen it makes your body produce more thyroglobulin binding hormone, which binds the free T4 hormone to it which then leaves less of it circulating in your blood stream. You need the T4 to covert into active thyroid hormone T3… when you do not have enough your pituitary gland pumps out more TSH thyroid stimulating hormone to tell your thyroid to produce more. I hope that makes sense. Basically it’s because of the oestrogen.

What happened in the end with your FET? Did it go ahead? This is happening to me right now. My TSH was 0.3 11 days ago and is now 2.85. It went up 1.5 in the last 3 days. My consultant has said he’s going to cancel the cycle if it’s over 3 on Monday
