Really need some help day 38 2nd cycle after failed ivf first go and EC. Usually 25 day cycle not pregnant + spotting has disappeared help!

Help! I’m really desperate! I had my first egg collection Oct 12th, transfer 17th and failed test and period on 28th Oct. since then nothing expect some spotting this week which has dried up. I had very regular cycles before this ivf spotting for 3 days ish and 25 days max 27 day cycles. No other symptoms nothing. I am meant to start a natural FET but how can I possibly if I’m in a state of almost menopause? No CM no period on and off burning nipples. This is heartbreaking I have 6 embryos waiting to be transferred I was really regular and now what?

Any help or advice please please let me know

It is frustrating but IVF does mess up your cycle and after IVF the 2nd period can often be delayed. The joys of hormones.

Hi, as Daffodils says this is very normal. Try not to stress about it as that will only make things worse. You are far from menopausal but your body has had a huge hit of hormones and just needs a bit of time to sort itself out again. Its not to say you won't be really regular again it just often takes a couple of cycles to get back to normal. I am sure your period will turn up soon. Good luck for your FET x

My second cycle went missing a couple of times after a failed cycle. Think its just the drugs messing your cycle up....I think my longest was around 43 days. However after that one comes mine settled back to normal.xx

No, just let nature take its course. I think it would have to considerably late for them to suggest meds to ring a bleed on.xx

Hey Kelly,

I’ve just had a HyCoSy test and whilst she was doing it, I asked her to tell me when I’d ovulate. I’m CD13 (post failed fresh transfer) and my endometrium was measuring about 6mm, which puts me at CD6 roughly - basically, my cycle will late by about a week. She said my body is still recovering and that’s normal after all the hormones and treatment. It may be the same for you, and hopefully your scan Monday will help to identify when you’ll likely have a bleed.

I know that’s probably not what you want to hear and I know it’s frustrating - I’m frustrated knowing my cycle will be late which means I can’t start treatment when I wanted also.

Fingers crossed it makes an appearance soon for you xx

Thanks hun! Good to know! What’s that test? Weird thing is my bodies spotted twice and it just goes to nothing. I’m so so dry as well no CM it’s like the buserilin xx

It was to test for a blockage in my Fallopian tubes ... a little uncomfortable but thankfully it’s all clear and healthy in there! Got told again today that we’ve just had “bad luck”.

My doctor said that can happen.. I’m sure your bleed will come. The scan you had Monday will hopefully be able to indicate that as well. I had a scan before my treatment when my period was 5+ days late and she could tell me that I’d ovulated and I’ll have my period in the next 48 hours ... so may be the same for you with the scan! 🤞🏻🤞🏻 Xx
