I have had positive pregnancy tests and due to certain issues the Early Gynecology Unit scanned me at 4 weeks 5 days. I think my HCG levels have not yet reached 1000 but should within the next 3 days if all is going well. They could not see any gestational sac on the screen. Is it too early? Or am I doomed again... ? The ultrasound tech didn't give much information away. Just opinions and experiences please until I get my HCG results on Monday to see if my levels are doubling. I read that it can be too early to see something or sometimes some women do see a sac at this point.
It's too early. I had bleeding at 4w+4d and the clinic wouldn't scan me until 6 weeks because it was too early to see anything. They had told me the only way to see if the pregnancy was ongoing at that stage would be to do the hCG test but I opted to wait until the scan because you have to go for the 2 blood tests to check levels. So, try not to worry too much and go for a scan at 6 weeks to see the sac. Don't expect to see heartbeats at 6 weeks either, some women do but I didn't see any until my 8 week scan. Hope it all goes well and you get good news!
My HCG level increased from 1000 to about 2000 in 48 hours. When it reached 2000 hcg level ,it showed a gestational sac and a yolk sac. I have another scan in 8 days to detect a fetal pole and heartbeat. Now I'm worried about not seeing a fetal pole... The first 12 weeks are crazy hard! Would be nice if I could sleep through the first 12 weeks :s
Yaay - looking good! It was the same for me, just saw two little beans in their sacs on the first scan at 6 weeks and then had a follow up at 8 weeks where we could see the fetal poles and see the heartbeat. I felt somewhat relaxed after the first scan though as everything was measuring well. When I miscarried, the measurements on the scan were a week apart from my dates so I got a good feeling when the measurements matched my dates. The doubling of your hCG is also a great sign. Try to stay occupied for the next while to keep your mind off it.
Hi, when did you see the heart beat? I am 6 plus 3 days. They saw the fetal pole, yolk sac and gestational sac but no heartbeat. I just hope I am too early for and the next scan next week will reveal the heartbeat. But everything i read says that I should see a heart beat at 6 weeks? When did you see the 'little flicker' of heartbeats? The sac increased in size.
Try not to worry. I didn't see a heartbeat at my 6 week scan. I only saw it from 8 weeks onwards. They did take measurements and they were. measuring correctly, so this was reassurance enough for me. Did they also take a measurement to see how many weeks you are on the scan? Will you have a scan before 12 weeks? I'd say it's still a little early to detect the hb.
A bit better that you saw the heartbeat later too and are doing just fine. Yes try did measurements.She counted me few days earlier than I think I am. I'll be having a scan at 7 plus 3. Next week.
That's great you won't have long to wait for the next scan. Sounds like you're measuring well too. I know being pregnant is a constant worry, it's so hard sometimes to relax into any of it!
