Hi. I've been told I can do a day 3 transfer of 2 embryos. I'm worried about the risks and complications that come with twin pregnancy. What should I do? 1 embryo or 2?

it’s honestly up to you but you should take account of any medical or physical issues you might have?
I’m 37 relatively fit and healthy and pregnant with twins from a double transfer and I can honestly say it’s pretty brutal physically! I’m 26 weeks but practically been on sofa rest since around 18 weeks. I can’t walk far or be on my feet long without my bump, hips, pelvis being in agony. Luckily I can work from home otherwise I’d be stuffed! My resting heart rate was around 67 and is now pushing 90 so I know this is putting a strain on my heart. Also one twin is much smaller than the other - likely because they are competing for space and nutrients - we are facing an early delivery - 2 premature babies and all the health concerns that brings and probably won’t be able to bring them home for a while either
So only transfer 2 if you are completely comfortable with the idea of a twin pregnancy not to mention the financial side when they arrive
Wow, thank you for your first hand experience. Twin pregnancy sounds like a tough gig!
Sorry to hear that one twin is not growing as much. This is the kind of thing I'm worried about. What if they end up staying at hospital for months? What if they have severe health issues?
It's a really overwhelming decision to make in just 2 days. You've given me food for thought.
Congratulations by the way!
I also trasfered 2 day-3 embryos, among all 8 retrieved there were only 2 good ones going great on day 3. I was advised not to wait for day 5 considering my age and better environment in uterus. The doc also said we would be lucky to have one turning into pregnancy. Its day 7 post trasfer, I dont feel nothing yet.... it probably not a good sign...
