After two failed attempts with ISCI (I have a low AMH and am 43), I have sought the opinion of another FS. He said his protocol would be IVF over ISCI (DH sperm is normal), as ISCI involves piercing the shell of the egg.
Has anyone has a better result with the IVF option over ISCI?
Thanks!

Not sure why going backwards and doing IVF over ICSI? Has the dr explained to you? I personally wouldn’t feel comfortable, knowing that the egg and sperm are left in the petry dish waiting for fertilisation....when it’s part of the process that you can control. Especially at your age, when eggs may be more difficult to fertilise....sending love ❤️
Thank you ... he mentioned with ICSI you need to pierce the egg (so maybe that causes potential damage?) .. i didn't question him enough but thinking about it later on, it seemed more high risk (for the exact reasons you say).
I asked my consultant about this as I had rubbish fertilisation rates even with ICSI - less than 30% fertilised. Mine also said it would be going backwards as ICSI supposedly is supported by lots of research that it improves fertilisation.
I asked if we could start out without ICSI and then only do it if nothing was happening but they said no as the eggs have to be prepared in advance. I do know people who if they had good egg numbers did 50/50 though - so let 50% fertilise naturally and the 50% had ICSI so you could ask about that as an option?
