Is there anything I can do to prepare my body in the best way that worked for you?

Hi, I’m just about to start our second round after having a failed round last November / December and I think the main thing I’m thinking going into this one based on experiences of round 1 is to not put pressure on myself to know everything that’s going on - after the group session summer 2019 I did diagrams and flow charts etc because I’m quite an organised person and wanted to know exactly what and when things were happening. I think we soon discovered that this was too difficult / impossible to do because so many things changed during the process. I think you learn about how IVF works but actually, each appointment you learn something different and something happens with your body to change things and you go off track and don’t necessarily end up with the treatment plan you knew about so I’m going to try and just roll with it more this time, especially with my husband not being allowed to come with me, it’s important I go in with the mindset of things can change and we can deal with that, just means learning new things and adapting! Good luck!
How exciting to start, I started IVF in January I had 18 follicles, 12 eggs and 6 were fertilised, 2 got to embryos; fresh transfer I got pregnant but miscarried in March, second was frozen transfer in June which didn't stick, I just went through the full cycle again, 6 follicles and 6 eggs with 5 embroys and had fresh transfer this month and just got a positive test it is a big game a chance of luck so don't worry too much about what you can do the best thing is to relax as much as you can.
My advice is to try not to focus on it too much (easier said than done I know!) I was overly organized first two times and think I added a lot of pressure on myself to be perfectly healthy etc. I found gentle yoga/meditation relaxing and kept me positive.
I would recommend starting your folic acid now (if you haven't already), cutting back on alcohol (if you drink) and eating well. If you are active keep that up, exercise before really helped me mentally and physically and during injections and transfers I took it easy and just walked a lot.
There is SO MUCH information out there, try and trust your gut instinct throughout.
If you ever want to chat feel free this year has been an emotional roller coaster but hopefully will end positively. - hope your journey does too!!
I’m also a recent newbie too, I had my first cycle this month. I think it’s definitely important to prepare your mind for this journey as well as your body. There is so much information out there that it can become so overwhelming. I think as long as your eating healthy, cutting down on alcohol & caffeine...& taking the vitamins your clinic has suggested, you’re doing great.
I have really focused on my mind during this, being kind to myself, having lots of pamper time, gentle exercise & doing things I enjoy, if there’s any hobby’s you love? The three years of trying I was an anxious mess, but since I’ve focused on my mental health, I’ve been the calmest I’ve ever been during ivf.
Just remember you’re not alone and if there’s any queries you have about anything, this forum is a god send....there is always someone has experienced something similar.
