This is our first ivf cycle and after starting Gonal f last Thursday I had my first scan today, she said there were 10-12 follicles over 10mm on each side and lots of smaller ones, so I’m off for second scan on Monday and all being well could be egg collection on Wednesday! It suddenly all seems to be happening very fast! Just interested in what people are doing to look after their bodies at this time? Seeing all the follicles on the screen gave me a new appreciation of how hard my body is working at the moment 💪🏼

First scan after starting stims
That's really positive.
I found that once injections started time seemed to fly by.
I just drank plenty of water and ate a lot of protein and in the evenings after work I relaxed a lot! Husband did all cooking etc which was lovely.
Good luck. Xx
I definitely could drink more, I’ve brought a bottle of coconut water to work with me so no excuses!
All sounding really positive 😊 at this point I think I just carried on as normal, try to drink plenty of fluids and just take it easy. I felt a bit uncomfortable and bloated. The difference I learnt from our first cycle to our second was to relax, my husband did a lot to help so I could put my feet up x
Yeah I’ve been bloated too, not surprising I suppose given what’s going on in there! I’m not wearing my skinny jeans though! Nice your hubby looks after you
That's a great number, well done you! Good luck with it all!xx
Thank you! I wasn’t sure if it was good or not but the sonographer sounded very positive
Woo hoo! Ive got my EC on Monday, so am totally in the same boat as you -exciting times!
At the moment, I'm just trying to take care of myself by not feeling bad if I end up sleeping 12 hrs straight, drinking lots of water (and cucumber or coconut water for the electrolytes), only doing light cardio at the gym and if I want cake I'm allowed I'm also going to treat myself to some snazzy new PJ's for EC (so rock and roll, but I love my PJ's, and any excuse...!).
Hope you are feeling good- have you got any plans for some treats? I've just put on a big online shop of all the stuff I'm going to need post op (as I'm at risk of OHSS, the clinic have said lots of salty food on standby for after the op ), so got chicken soup, my favourite crisps and box sets lined up for Monday afternoon! xxx
Haha love me some cool pyjamas too 😂 I actually bought a onesie for my second laparoscopy as I couldn’t bear anything with a waistband so maybe I should dig that out! I got some coconut water on my way to work to try and encourage me to drink more. Good idea to stock up on treats though, I have had a freezer full of pineapple ice lollies for when I’ve been feeling bloated and sicky so I should top them up. I’ve been having huge sleeps too, I know I’m sleeping a lot when even my cat thinks I’m lazy 😂
Good luck for Monday!xx
Wow, that's a huge number. Definitely make sure you drink plenty of water. And good luck for next week xx
Thank you everyone keeps saying to drink lots, why is this?
It is always good to keep your fluids up anyway, but this will help in case you get over stimulation. The clinic are obviously monitoring you closely but having the fluids is something that we should all be doing all the time to help our systems x
Ok makes sense thanks!
