After months of waiting, tests and appointments we had our nurse consultation today and signed our consent forms..... We start our first round of IVF when AF appears at the end of the month! We can't believe we are actually starting. We have been put on the short protocol. I'm not sure why... I'm not 100% how they choose (May be should have asked!) But we just couldn't believe how quickly we are able to start!
We have chosen to do the embryo glue and time lapse imagining as well at extra cost... We were unsure what to do but after reading up on it we would do anything even if it improves of chances by the tiniest percent......
Just want to say how supportive this group has been. Even when I've not be writing on here I have browsed this site everyday..... it has helped me understand the process were about to embark on... and helped me through some particularly dark days.
I'm scared and nervous about the journey ahead but for the first time in months I feel ready to take this on....
Love and hugs to everyone on this journey...... I hope you all get the happy endings you deserve
Xxxx

Aww thanks for that. Didn't realise they let you watch it..... brings tears to my eyes thinking about it..... huge congratulations xxx
Just wanted to say good luck. I've just done my first short protocol too and I'm glad as you don't get anywhere near as many side effects as down Regging. It's exciting to finally start the rollercoaster xx
Aww thanks so much! We found out today it would be short protocol I hadn't even thought about it before! ...... Do you mind me asking why you did short protocol? I didn't ask why at appointment as so much to take in... and i do trust the consultant knows best!... Just after reading since I've got back it said they normally do short for PCOS or low ovarian reserve. But at the moment this doesn't apply too me so I was just curious! It seems most people do long protocol. Not that I'm complaining! X
I have low reserve and am also 39 so I think that's why they did it for me. I didn't ask to be honest as just wanted the quickest route! I did have to take norithisterone first to make me period come when they wanted even though I'm regular and I started that on day 21 x
Thank you so much for your reply.... I will just put my trust that they know best and not overthink why I'm on short! My consultant is amazing so i know there must be a reason..... i am just so grateful to be starting.....
Good luck to you... look forward to seeing your positive BFP xx
Fab news! I was on short protocol for both rounds, second round we paid for the time lapse and embryo glue and wether that made a difference or not I'll never know but Im now 14 weeks pregnant, I think the time lapse defo helps as they can see if the eggs are developing normally all the time rather than just at set intervals xx
Aww this is great news... thanks so much your positive story really gives me hope.... We were unsure whether to do it due to cost... but just felt we wanted no regrets so just doing everything we can. Trying not to let myself get too carried away as it's only first try..... so being realistic with my expectations.
Many congratulations on your BFP am so happy for you. Wishing you a stress free pregnancy xx
Thank you, we thought the same do we pay for it or not but we had to pay for our second round anyway so we thought were paying for it anyway so why not just add it all on ha ha, fingers crossed you'll get your bfp first time that would be fab xx
Thank you so much!! I see we are at the same clinic too so your happy story gives me even more hope..... !!! They certainly have been wonderful so far...
I hope you finally get to relax and enjoy your pregnancy now you are at the 14 week mark.... huge congratulations and thanks for giving me hope! xx
Thank you so much!! It's the most positive I've felt in months... so just trying to cling onto that, whilst still being realistic with my expectations xxxxx
