I am preparing for a natural FET. I had a scan on Thursday which showed a 15mm follicle and was told to take ovulation tests until I get a static smiley face (peak ovulation). I’ve had a flashing smiley face (high ovulation) since Friday but no peak and the lines seem to be getting fainter. Has anyone else had the same problem using these test sticks?
Thank you x

Not sure how helpful this is but I just wanted to share that I've used the Clearblue advanced Fertility tests for a few months now and have had a few weird things pop up for me that have made me question their reliability. Because of this I have started using cheap OPKs which I got from Amazon as well to help pin point peak fertility. Most months I have had a lot of days of the flashing smiley before I got a static smiley (up to 10 days) even though it advises that you probably won't get a peak after that many days of high fertility. Last month I got the static smiley on day 10 when I normally ovulate on day 17. So i started testing again but with a different tester (one from last cycle) and then it was fine and went peak on day 17 as expected. I'm sure they work for most people but I've found them a bit temperamental which is why i use the cheap OPK strips as well. I've found that when I get static smiley in the morning it is when my LH is starting to rise but when I use the cheap OPK throughout the day i can see the peak happen in the afternoon which means I am likely to ovulate during the next 24 hours. I also track my temperature which is useful to confirm when I have ovulated.
Thanks you Jane, I finally got my static smile today! 😊 It’s a few days later than expected so I was panicking that I’d missed it. I will definitely use cheap strips and check my temperature too in future x
Hi Nicki, I had the same problem with the clear blue ones! Had days of flashing faces but no static. I generally know after I ovulate and didn’t pick any up. I use the cheaper sticks now from amazon.
Thank you, . I was advised by the hospital to use clearblue but might also use cheaper ones since I test several times a day to make sure I don’t miss peak!
I know this is an old post. But I wanted to get out there that Clearblue ovulation kits are not that great. I read reviews on boots etc saying how people instantly fell pregnant using them but I had a totally different experience.
I had some cycles were I apparently wasn't fertile the whole month/ some which seemed normal with a peak day and all these changes made me worry if I had stuff wrong with me annovulation and all sorts even though i've always had regular cycles all my life. My last cycle I had no peak but loads of flashing days so thought ok thats it this month again.. but I finally Fell pregnant that month! So I just thought it certainly didn't really aid me but more made me feel disheartened that I had things wrong. Go the old fashioned route i'd say!
