Bleeding at 5 weeks IVF

Hi, I am 5 weeks pregnant from an IVF frozen transfer. Saturday night I had some bright red blood and then Sunday morning I had a small gush and then wiped away a small clot since then it stopped but last night I had some very faint spotting. Has this happened to anyone else and everything has been ok? I’m trying to not get worried but easier said than done I guess

Hi lovely. This hasn’t happened to me but I know of others it has and everything was ok. Bleeding in early pregnancy isn’t uncommon. You should speak to your clinic and get it checked though just to be sure. All the best xx

I had spotting and cramping at 5 weeks. The 'period pains' have continued throughout. I'm now over 18 weeks.

I have however seen women on here with lots of bleeding throughout the first 12 weeks and all is fine (but stressful).

Its unfortunately too early to see anything in a scan, but contact your clinic and let them know. When is your viability scan?

That must be really scary for you. But like the other women on here said, bleeding can be normal in first trimester. Are you having any cramps? I agree with calling your GP and see if they will refer you to the EPU.

I have had some cramps this morning, really not feeling hopeful now

Cramping can be normal too. There's so much going on in there and the guessing will drive you bonkers. What can be bad for one person can be completely fine for another. That's what I've learned from this forum anyway. Until you have the scan you need to keep taking care of yourself, including not getting stressed. I know it's easier said than done xxx

I would go get your hcg levels checked to see if there’re doubling and if they’re over 1000 (which they should be by now), book in a scan as they’ll be able to see the sac and the yolk sac at this point. If it’s all there then you’re good!

Thank you lovely, I went to the EPU yesterday and had my HCG which was 8000+ I’m going to go in for a scan hopefully today. Spotting seems to have calmed down now. I’m keeping everything crossed it’s all ok x

I had bleeding all through my pregnancy. At 11 weeks massive bleed. I thought it was all over. Had a scan all fine I couldn't believe it. Then at 23 weeks another big bleed. Again all fine. Also bleed pink and brown on and off too. Xxx
