Brown Discharge 6weeks 2 days

Hi everyone,

I am currently 6 weeks and 2 days and since about 4 weeks 6 days I’ve had brown discharge. I’ve spoken to my team about it and they’ve said it’s perfectly normal and it’s the body cleaning the womb of old blood for the baby to avoid infection.

From the research I have done, I agree that is what it is but it’s just never ending. It’s not as bad as it was last week but it’s there with every wipe. Odourless and definitely no fresh blood. No cramps and no other symptoms. Anyone else had this and the baby was all fine? I’m just worried about my little bean.

Thank you xx

I googled it too and as far as it says its fine but, I'm behind ya it is a little strange.

I am getting light cramping with it too.

I’m glad I’m not alone then. I’m praying my little one is holding on tight. I’ve waited 10 years for this and just want to relax lol

Oh absolutely. I’ll love to follow your journey. You’re having twins? Have you been scanned already?

Hi MomaJoni. Oh dear, this can be such a worry. However, you are keeping a look out for any smells which could indicate infection. Also, it could just be down to the chorionic villi changing into your little one's placenta, when old blood can discharge for a while. Hope all continues to go as it should. Hopefully if you haven't had your first scan yet, you will be reassured when you do. Diane
