So I’m doing research on having two embryos transferred.. Iv had conflicting advice on this .
Any body been advised that if one embryo is stronger / better quality that it can effect the second one ( growing ) ..
I had two transferred one was good one catching up ? 🤷🏽♀️

I think different consultants have different perspectives, I have always had at least two transferred sometimes three.. the embryologists advised that it depends on the difference, if they are very different eg. one great quality and one terrible its not always a good idea to put them in together, but if they aren't too far apart its not such a big deal. However it also sometimes comes down to what embryos you have so for example on my 2nd round I had 2 good grade 3 blastos and one not good grade 3.. which wasn't good enough to freeze but still going so we couldn't throw it away - so they whacked it back in as well. I am sure you are in good shape and they wouldn't have put you at risk as lets face it they need the success rates for their PR! Good luck x
Over 40 they'll put 2 + in to increase the odds. The reasoning behind the embryos preferably being of similar grade could be that there's a chance of the lower grade one implanting first and blocking the second/ sending out adverse endometrial receptive factors. In any case the one that implants must be pretty strong to get so far and 2 gives a good chance and you never know both may implant! Hope all goes well 💖x
I worried about this too but decided to trust consultant and embriologist. I got a bfp last week no idea whether it will be the great one or the slightly fragmented one or both but something has worked so I'm grateful. Good luck x
They need to be similar in quality b not exactly the same. I’m 18 weeks with twins - one a 5BA and the other a day 6 4BB - I was surprised they chose the day 6 to transfer but the embryologist reviewer all the time lapse and he made the call these two best complemented each other and it worked.
I’ve only ever had a BFP when I’ve done a double FET (although the previous one ended in ectopic) all my single transfers failed so part of me feels like I needed 2 to make it work x
