Hello ladies, I’ve not posted for a while. We where lucky enough to have our baby girl in February and have 3 embryos in the freezer. I just wondered if anyone could tell me the process for FET and what is involved please? Thanks 😊

Frozen embryo transfer process
Hi, FET's are pretty straightforward, but there is multiple protocols. Some ladies have down regulation before their FET, some do medicated and some do natural.
For a short medicated FET (my protocol), day 1 with AF just start taking some form of estrogen for approx 12-14 days to thicken lining, start progesterone once lining is good and then transfer on the appropriate day (day 14 to 16 approx). A breeze compared to a fresh. Best of luck xx
Hi Steph can I ask you what grade your embryos were that you have frozen ?
I have 1 at a 4AA
I have to wait for a bleed and also go on progesterone tablets to help with my uterine lining before I have the FET . X
Hi, I’m not completely sure. I think 2 of them are 3AB which is what I had transferred last year and now have my daughter, however the 3rd embryo didn’t develop into a blastocyte until day 6 so I’m not sure if that affected the grading and they never said?
Good luck! Xx
There’s all sorts of processes. I had an FET to get my LG and we are now starting again.
I’m starting next cycle and will go in to have an injection on day 25 (as my periods are a bit long) , wait for period 10-14 days later, go in for scan and then start HRT, go back for another scan 10-14 days later and then transfer the week after.
My friend is also starting FET same time and her protocol is completely different to mine x
Thankyou. It doesn’t seem as complicated as a fresh cycle. We’re looking into it hopefully beginning of next year. Wishing you lots of luck with your transfer xxx
Hi stephyivf, I have just had a 3bb put back and on medicated FET. Started taking estrogen tablets 3 times a day alongside folic acid. Had a scan around day 11. On day 12, started taking progesterone injection in morning and pessary in evening. Had transfer on day 17. All these drugs you continue to take until week 12 of your pregnancy xx
Its so much easier than a full cycle Stephy, no egg collection is a joy! There are a few different ways, natural cycle which is of course timed with your own cycle/ovulation.. Semi medicated which is what I prefer, start HRT on day 2 then a couple of lining checks and if all all then start progesterone for 5 days then transfer. Some clinics also like to do a fully medicated cycle where they down regulate you first then same as above so it will depend on your clinic.xx
Thankyou so much for your advise xx
Hope your doing ok and ready for your scan, is it tomorrow? Xx
