Hello! Here is a little update from me. I had another big bleed yesterday at 8wks+5. It was so frightening. I was really scared it might be over. I had some strange translucent liquid too which I thought could be amniotic fluid. When I went for my emergency scan, they reassured me that the baby is fine and sac too. But my hematoma has grown and it’s very big so I’m at risk.
I came to Italy from London to see my parents after months of not seeing them due to Covid and I’m stuck here now. (I cannot travel back due to the subchorionic hematoma) The care here is amazing though -I’ve been seen by a specialist every time I needed to, even on the same day and all my meds are literally a quarter of the price (I was so shocked)! In case anyone else has an Italian connection - you are better off buying your meds here.
Anyway in some ways I’m lucky to be here as I am well looked after by family but missing my husband. I’m a nervous wreck most of the time though and have been unable to sleep the past while. It’s so true that IVF pregnancies are so different to natural pregnancies. We can never relax or enjoy the process. If anyone has positive experiences of subchorionic hematomas it would be lovely to hear you to get me in a bit more of a positive mindset! Really struggling here! Must be the hormones too 🤪🤪 constantly crying 😭😭😭! Thank you all and sending you lots of love and luck with your journeys! ❤️

Hi, I had quite a large haematoma in between 2 sacs (twins!). I had 2 quite big bleeds both with cramping and one i passed quite a big clot. I took 4 weeks off work as lots of rest is essential to allow the haematoma to reabsorb, so its good that you're in Italy and have your family to look after you. By week 10 my haematoma had almost completely reabsorbed and my babies were absolutely fine. Take it easy, rest lots and hopefully yours will clear up as mine did. I hope you are able to relax and enjoy it once the haematoma clears up x
Thank you so much for sharing your story Poppy. Congratulations on your twins! It’s very helpful to hear also that you took 4 weeks off work as I was unsure wha to do. ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you so much ❤ My work were really good about it. I think i took 2 weeks sick and then as my haematoma improved I worked from home for 2 weeks. The clinic advised to stay off my feet as much as possible - I watched a lot of Netflix! 😂
Sorry to hear this but good to hear that baby is doing ok and you’re being looked after.. I wish I could give you a positive story but I don’t have any experience of this.. I’m wishing you all the luck in the world though and hope everything goes well for you 🙂 Xx
Hi feminist. So sorry to hear this, but I'm keeping everything crossed that the placenta will build up soon and take over from the chorionic villus. A frightening thing to happen, but I can honestly say, that I have seen many recover. Keep resting and let your lovely family look after you and feed you well. Thinking of you. Diane
Hey! I had a really big haematoma from week 5 but it had resolved by week 8. My consultant messaged me at the time saying that the latest research suggests it doesn’t harm the chances of a live birth. Rest!! I literally did nothing. Xxxx
Hey! Just sending you a positive story, I had a very large SCH that bled heavily from 6-14 weeks, everyday. I was a nervous wreck most of the time but it did eventually go. I had a few other issues in pregnancy followed by preterm labour at 28 weeks but thrilled to say we celebrated our sons 1st birthday last week. Hang in there, try and takes things easy if you can and I really hope it all works out for you 🤞🏻 Bleeding in pregnancy, especially IVF pregnancies is more common than you would think xx
Thank you for sharing Jenjen84! It’s really helpful to hear your story. I started bleeding more or less at the same time. Lovely to know you have just celebrated your sons first year! ❤️ Congratulations!
