Just a wee update for anyone with a subchorionic Hematoma. I Had a follow up scan today At 6wk +5 to check on the bleeding And whilst the hematoma is still there and still as big (and scary 😭) I saw a heartbeat 💓.
Baby is measuring 6+4 so doctor doesn’t think it has affected baby’s growth and she was slightly more positive than last week although still VERY cautious about the outcome especially as I had a huge Red bleed on Monday and passed a massive clot (it was like a crime scene!)
I really don’t know what I’m looking at on the monitor at the scans except a little blob 🙈 but she made sure I could see the heartbeat and told me my cervix is still closed so it’s calmed me down quite a bit.
Dr said to come back for my original scheduled app (that should have been my first scan if it hadn’t been for the bleeding) on sept 15th and said my wife could come to that one too 🙌🏼
So now we are just keeping our fingers crossed 🤞🏽 until sept 15th. Thanks again for keeping me positive so far despite the scary bleeding I honestly can’t believe how many IVF ladies end up with this when I‘ve never heard of it before in my life!!
🤗 You are all utterly amazing!!! Xx

This is such good news Twiglet. I am so so happy for you both.
I had a bleed last week and they managed to scan me, it was amazing to see that heartbeat and the wave of Joy/relief I had was great. I’m in on the 18th for my scan just with the travelling I asked for it to be in my 9th week which I was dreading but now that I have seen my little one I don’t mind waiting until then. Is you wife allowed in because of your situation or have they relaxed the rules for that last step?? My husband would love to be able to attend. It was so hard to describe to him what the scan showed , all be it not much.
Thank you 😊 yeah I can’t explain the scan at all but they gave me a photo this time that helped (very slightly!) no it’s not because of my situation they said that they rules have been relaxed a little to allow partners to the first scan... even though this will be the 3rd scan it’s the scheduled ‘first’ so partners allowed. Hoping it doesn’t change between then and now... especially with Glasgow being put back into partial lockdown! The doctor checked with the nurse and partners were defo allowed at that appointment (but that one only) xx
Very happy to see this. It’s strange how this doesn’t seem to be that uncommon in IVF pregnancies. Hopefully as baby grows it will overtake the haematoma and it will absorb into the placenta. There are lots of stories of ladies bleeding throughout the first trimester. I’ve got everything crossed for you. Keep us updated.
Fabulous news Twiglet!!! So happy for you. It all sounds very positive and great you were able to see the heartbeat. Lovely you can bring your wife to the next one ❤️. I have mine tomorrow and have been an anxious wreck the past few days. Take good care of yourself. Fingers crossed for us both xxxx
Thinking of you & hoping all works out. Sounds more positive 💞great your wife is allowed in for scan. Mine is too in 2 weeks....if I survive the anxious wait. Sending positive vibes your way for the journey ahead xxx
