Where can you get DHEA from in the UK

hello all i have received my prescription from my clinic to get DHEA 25mg and take one tablet 3 x a day. however i have contacted Boots and my local clinic and they don't offer DHEA in 25mg. where can i buy this from and how much does it cost for 100 tablets? thank you all for helping me out.

There are two types of DHEA. Micronised and non-Micronised. The micronised version is supposed to be better absorbed but is tricky to get hold of in the UK. Most people have to import it and pay import duties. It’s not licensed in the UK as it’s a steroid. I have been recommended it via Biovea, I think it takes a few weeks to arrive. I’m still deciding whether to take or not. My consultant isn’t fussed either way. But I don’t want to take it if it’s not needed or if it can make things worse. I haven’t had my testosterone levels checked.

Hello 👋! I’ve been advised to take this before my next cycle too. Clinic would do a private prescription for £250/£300 I think, but not sure where I’d be able to get it from even if I paid the private prescription fee! I’ve ordered it from Biovea but not sure when / if it will arrive! Xx

Hi Rumi, I take DHEA and I get it from Biovea. It is only around £18 for 300 x 25mg tablets. It does take a few weeks to arrive but I haven't had any issues with import duties or delays with import. I haven't had any side effects and my current consultant agrees that it may be helpful to take. xx

Hi Ellie, When I ordered it in July it took about a month from order to arrival so you do need to plan. No my consultant didn't recommend it - he was just happy I was taking it and didn't ask any details. xx

thank you all so much for your replies. i have been recommended to take it 75mg a day for 3 months. i have asked my clinic how much they would charge but i haven't had a reply yet. i kind of need to take it now as i will be going for IUI in two week so not sure i can wait to get it from Biovea. also i was hoping to get the micronised version. i appreciate all your advice. i need to take this apparently as my AMH is 2.57 and soon to be 41. my last round of IVF i was a poor responder and my oestrogen levels were like at 86...thats super low. my doc said the figure should be in the 1000's.

I always got mine from iherb in the US - it’s micronized and really inexpensive and the fast shipping is also cheap, normally comes in a week or so.

Girls - I get mine from NVS pharmacy is Baker Street. This is pharmacy my clinic sends me to should I need meds at short notice. I have about 3 bottles of 60 tablets and it was about £200 I got mine last month. Hope this helps

I have recently discovered that Asda pharmacy is very cheap. they do not put any mark-up on the fertility medication and that helps massively. maybe try there? xx

thank you older wiser and others. FYI i ordered this online today from iherbs. they were so cheap and hopefully be coming by the 18th sep. my clinic charge £48 for 60 tablets. i brought 200 tablets for £20 from iherbs. what a difference eh!!

Hey! Do you still need this? I have a brand new bottle to give away. My cycle was cancelled so I won’t use it! So guttered but that’s another story. Mine was prescribed by my clinic and i her from NVS pharmacy in Baker Street London.

I'm in SW London and have had one failed cycle but am looking into getting tested/using DHEA next time around. I found the amount of information given by my clinic frustrating non existent and will need to ask for all my blood results etc

Hi. Sorry to hear about your cycle. It’s just pants isn’t it! am at Zita West. I am in Clapham (London) defo get tested for DHEA. You need to take it for 3 months for it to be effective. I can’t recommend this clinic enough. The other clinic was Amin Gorgy. But I picked Zita west in the end.
