Early scan tomorrow- eek!!

Early scan tomorrow at 6 weeks 5 days. Don’t feel pregnant at all so very nervous 😬. Can anyone remind me of the protocol? Is it an internal scan and therefore empty bladder at this stage??

At my NHS scan are 6 weeks randomly it was external and they saw everything they needed but a week later at my IVF clinic one it was internal - I’d say if it’s your private clinic go with internal

I have my scan tomorrow too 😬😬 I'll be 6 weeks 5 days as well. Its an empty bladder for an internal scan thank god. Apart from my boobs looking a little bit bigger, I have had no symptoms either which has made me feel quite nervous. Some of my friends have tried to reassure me that they didn't have symptoms either at this stage or at all as well. X

Good luck Clairelee86. I see people on here say they have no symptoms a lot so I guess it’s a common concern.

Glad it’s empty bladder. All that prodding when you are desperate to pee is too much. I think that’s the worst part of embryo transfers!

I had genuine fear I was going to wee on the consultant during my embryo transfer. Good luck for tomorrow im sure we won't need it though x

Good luck at your scan! 🤞🏻🤞🏻 It’s very likely to be an internal at this stage and I wouldn't worry about symptoms, a lot don’t have them. I didn’t have much but last couple of weeks have been having more, and most recently this constant awful taste in my mouth 🤢 I’m currently around 8 weeks 2 days. Xx

Thanks so much Mutleybob I’ve followed your recent posts and glad to hear things are going well with you. It is so hard not to be constantly nervous when things have gone wrong in the past. But things are all good today so let’s be happy for that!! xx

Yes we can’t help but worry. But you are right we should be happy today and just hope everything is ok and we will hopefully all get what we want in the end.

I am going to book in for a scan around 10 weeks as I know I won’t be able to wait until the 12-13 week scan! X

Good idea. If all goes well for me tomorrow I’ll do the same. I want to have the harmony blood test and a scan. I think the test is available from 10 weeks so that should be good timing.

It’s nice to break up the first trimester into manageable chunks! xx

It’s a more accurate screening test than the nuchal fold test carried out by the nhs. It can also be used to tell you the sex of the child if you wanted to know. X

Congratulations!

Defo an appointment with the dildo cam, but I feel it's something everyone on here is so used to now! So yup empty bladder.

I hope it's an amazing scan. Remember it's early so it's only had so much time to develop. I've seen a few people on here have scans at 6 weeks a few days and not seen much and spent a week worrying till their next one and then everything has been ok. My scan at 7 weeks 3 days looks like a prawn and not much else!

Also I felt nothing other than 'period' cramps and slightly tender boobs from BFP till about 8 weeks. xx

hi, me too on Thursday after double donor FET...the clinic dont do the blood test either so just based on my home tests - very worried as I know that all 'symptoms ' could be caused by meds ( progesterone/oesrogen ) so one step at a time and onwards - bestest for you tomorrow for your scan xx

Hi, mine was Private and it was both- I was told to arrive with full bladder for external part. Then I was told to go to the bathroom and empty my bladder for the internal one. Best wishes x

My early scan should have been today, I’m currently 6 weeks 5 days but I was convinced I was not as far on as I was so could be next week now. I was confused about how they calculate dates.

So glad all is well 🎉. Mine is not until 14/09 & am so anxious 🙈 worked out on ivf calculator am 6 weeks today so am wondering why am not in next week. Did they tell you how far along you are ? x

Well I thought I was 6 weeks 5 days based on date of FET. She said it measured 6 weeks 1 day (obvs I was stressed) but she said it takes up to 5 days to implant so it can be up to 5 days out on measurements. So now I’m unsure how far I am along. I preferred thinking 6 weeks 5 days!

With my daughter our clinic didn’t scan until about 8 weeks so don’t worry. Clinics have their own policy. I know it’s hard having to wait, but your blob is likely to look a little more fetus like and less like a bag of cells!! X

My scan is also tomorrow and I am 6w3d. No symptoms... I am so worried and I cannot help but googling empty sac, miscarriage risk, early miscarriage symptoms etc. Driving me mad -- and my husband. Wish us best of luck!!!

Yeah follow up scan today but I’ve had a lot of bleeding and cramping the last few days so I’m trying to be positive but realistic at the same time 😐😬 Honestly The things we put ourselves through! 🙈 xx
