New clinic, fresh start

Well had a meeting with the consultant at our new clinic today, he was so lovely he listened answered all our questions and didn't rush, we were with him 1hr 15 mins. We discussed another cycle with my own eggs using the flare protocal (anyone used it???) and trying donor eggs he sat and explained every detail to us, something we have never had before.

He said with my own eggs we have around a 10% chance with donor eggs about 50%. We have decided to try one more cycle using my eggs, I know the odds are stacked against us but don't want to look back and wish we had, we are in a very fortunate position to be able to fund both (if needed)

He also supports DHEA and confirms he feels it can make a positive difference so going straight back on that.

We just feel so happy to be getting going again and working on our dream, we should be starting in the next few weeks xxx

Aww lovely news that sounds really positive. I haven't used the flare protocol but my consultant mentioned it for next time if we need to do another fresh cycle. I'm guessing it's for low ovarian reserve to try and kick start our ovaries?!! wishing you the best of luck xxxxxxxx

Definitely it sounds like you have a nice consultant you can chat to aswell. I'm only 28 so I'd like you want to try all possibilities before I move on to doner eggs aswell. Xxxx

Yes I get what you mean I think you have to give yourself the best shot before your ready to move on. Good luck I really hope it works. I know it sounds corny and people say it to me all the time and sometimes I dismiss them but miracles do really happen and 10% is definitely worth a shot il keep my fingers crossed for you 🙏🙏👼🏻

Aw Button, this is great to read. I'm glad it went well and more than anything they listened to you and sounds like you had good advice. I'd make the same decision as you as like you say you don't want to have the what if questions later on. Good luck with your new cycle xx

Button this has given me goosebumps, it's so nice to hear you've had a positive experience today! I'm not familiar with the flare protocol (will google later) but it sounds like you're in really good hands. I'm glad you're excited to get going again x x x

Aw thanks and it's amazing how a positive experience can have such an impact. From what I understand the flare is a short, aggressive protocol used for people with low amh/egg reserve. It's just nice to have one last go and my last clinic didn't change anything. He also approves and promotes dhea 😀😀
