So there we go, first Buserilin injection administered this morning!
I feel ok, a little bit overwhelmed, but ok.
Just looking forward to my first scan and even if it doesn’t work this time (fingers crossed it does) my partner and I are pleased we may at least find out what the problem may be as it is ‘unexplained infertility’ at the moment.....
Are there any success stories out there of it working on anyone’s first time?
Just need some positive vibes and thoughts at the moment!
I hope you are all doing well on your journeys xx

We did our first IVF cycle in March 2018. It was successful and our baby girl was born 15th Dec 2018. So it definitely can work first time. We are unexplained infertility.
IVF is so overwhelming. It has such a physical & mental impact on you.
Just take each stage at a time. There are so many points where it can go wrong. As you get past each milestone, know that you are one step closer.
A great resource that has helped me is the BFN podcast. Lots of information and real life accounts which helped me stay realistic.
We’re now in the 2ww in our 2nd IVF cycle. It’s just as daunting & emotional this time too! Good luck 🍀 x
Hi Luamber. Not got a success story but just wanted to wish you luck! I have also just started my first IVF, had my first stim injection (gonal f) yesterday. I've also got unexplained fertility, so very much in the same boat as you!
Are you on long or short protocol? Not sure of buserilin is a stim or down-reg drug xxx
Ah, I thought it was a down-reg. I have no idea how they decide which protocol to use, it will be all down to the individual I suppose. How long are you on buserilin for before starting stims?
I've just been getting a couple of headaches and a bit of pain in my tummy where I've injected, but nothing much at this stage.
Well I hope the down regging goes smoothly, and fingers crossed for a good scan in 2 weeks!
I had my first baseline scan a month ago and they found a cyst on my ovary so had to delay for a month to wait for it to clear. Luckily it went away on it's own 😊 but feels like I've been waiting ages!
Not sure on the exact dates, they said it'll depend on how the follicles are developing so they'll be able to tell me more during my tracking scans.
