We had our first IVF appointment this week following 3 failed IUI’s and we are able to start at the end of this month!
Im excited, nervous and everything else we all feel when going through this.
Theres quite an overwhelming amount of advice and recommendations, so I think I’m just going to take things steady and listen to my body. This time I have decided to take some time off work- something I haven’t done at all yet! In the hopes that taking care of myself more will help.
Does anyone have any tips or advice around the side affects of treatment?

Hello dear! My congratulations with the beginning of your journey. I have no tips just be calm and try to stay positive as faith makes wonders)) You shouldn't lose your hope in case of failure because it is just one of the stairs to the best result ever. The procedure is not complicated so there is nothing to worry about. Eat fresh food, make some walks and be on the fresh air as much as possible. Fresh juice nad no junk food. Don't be nervous as it may have a bad influence on your health. I wish you all the best and waiting for the updates! Baby dust!
I know, dear, that it isn't so easy to stay positive but it is good for you) I hope you will get the best result ever this time! All my prayers for you, hun!
I don’t have any advice, as I haven’t started IVF yet. But like you had three failed IUIs before this. I just wanted to wish you lots of luck. That is so exciting! How amazing you’re able to start that soon too. Taking time off work sounds good. I hope it all goes well for you. Would love to know how you get on. Fingers are crossed for you 🤞🤞😊 xx
Hi Gem, I noticed we are at similar stages! I got lucky and we got a cancellation appointment, so its happened quicker than expected- although Im not complaining!
Hi CLou. Just wanted to wish you well with it all. Always keep your water intake up as it can help with some of the side effects of medication. have a rest when you can, but keep busy in between. Good luck! Diane
Aw your similar to me 3 rounds IUI and first Ivf. I’m early days into it so can’t say I have loads of advice. But here if you want a buddy lots of luck xxx
We are at a similar stage too. 4 unsuccessful iui’s and first ivf appointment on Tuesday. I’m mainly nervous about work as it’s been really stressful the last few weeks and I have a new headteacher in September - I think it’s a great idea to take time off if you can.
Hi there, Aw that must be really difficult having a change of head! What is your role within the School? I work for children and young peoples service/safeguarding. Its a really stressful job and up to now Ive found it impossible to take any time off- but im going to make myself! X
I really wish you all the best and hope your tiny will stick at once) Will be keeping everything crossed for you, hun and waiting for news! I have found an interesting article, maybe you will want to read: biotexcom.com/effectiveness...
Hi hun, how are you? Did you check the article? Would be glad to hear your thoughts about it. How do you think what outcome may such treatment have? Would you try it if you have a chance?
Hey, so sorry I have only just seen your message! Congrats on the funding being approved, thats great news. Hopefully you wont have to wait too long for your first appointment.
Ive looked into acupuncture, Im not so keen on the idea but I keep hearing about the benefits
