So I'm currently 5 weeks and 5 days pregnant. Yesterday I was feeling really sick and woke up during the night feeling the same.

When I got up this morning there is a lot of blood, fresh blood like a period and I'm still feeling really sick.

Can't believe it's all over after everything.

2nd round of IVF

Struggling today ladies

Hi. Thanks for your message. No I've phoned the clinic this morning and waiting for someone calling me back.

I didn't see the point doing a pregnancy test as might still show positive.

Just feel so sick x

Sorry you're going thru this lovely, but there are lots of women who bleed in early pregnancy and some right thru their pregnancy and go on to have healthy babies. I hope you get some answers today, I'll be thinking of you xxx

Thank you. Yeah if it was a little blood or dark I'd feel ok about it but it's bright red and I'm feeling so sick. Here's hoping though x

Yeah it's not easy to see the positive side, but like another poster said, it could be a haematoma. 🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞 xxx

Hey there! This exactly when I started bleeding recently. I woke up in the middle of the night with blood dripping down my legs. I went to my local Early Pregnancy Unit (EPU) first thing the next morning as they do walk-ins and they scanned me. They found a subchorionic haemotoma, which is where the bleeding was coming from. My little embryo was there too. Although, it was too early to see the heartbeat so I will be back this week. What I have learnt, is that bleeding is REALLY common in early pregnancy. Maybe go to your local EPU for a check up? Thinking of you. It is so terrifying. Xxxx

Thank you for your message. I'm sorry to hear about your worrying time. Keeping everything crossed for you . Waiting for my clinic phoning me back and seeing if they'll do anything just now or I need to wait x

I had a lot of bleeding all through my pregancy. My advise to you is take a pregancy test. Specifically the clear blue ones. That's what my clinic used to advise. Xxx

JustStarting1 profile image
JustStarting1 in reply toMazzath1

Thank you. My only worry was to do one now as itd probably still show as pregnant?x

Mazzath1 profile image
Mazzath1 in reply toJustStarting1

if you get the how many weeks you are tests. Gives you indication how strong the hgc levels are xxx

JustStarting1 profile image
JustStarting1 in reply toMazzath1

Ah ok. I thought those ones just said 5-6 weeks etc . I've never used that one x

So sorry you are going through this. I recommend you phone EPU, in my experience once you are pregnant your clinic is less involved and instead they refer you to EPU. There seems to be a very definite line between getting you pregnant and maintaining that pregnancy. EPU should scan you (if you tell them it’s an ivf pregnancy)

Good luck really hope it’s just a little bleed x

Thank you. We've went private so the clinic is normally pretty good (because we pay for it!) So just waiting for them phoning me x

I had bleeding in my first pregnancy and it was bright red - turned out it was a large haematoma - worrying I know but don't give up hope - the fact that you're still being sick too is hopefully a good sign. x

I suggest if you haven’t heard back from your clinic within an hour, phone your nearest early pregnancy clinic. Xx

Thank you. Our clinic is a private one so I'll definitely be chasing them up soon if I haven't heard back x

I had a similar thing last week, so I know how worrying it is. My consultant responded to my email within 5 minutes, told me not to worry, relax, take extra progesterone. If I hadn’t heard from them within 30 minutes I was going to call the early pregnancy clinic. I hope they get in touch with you soon X

I had red blood with clots at 5 and a half weeks and my clinic increased my progesterone and it changed to spotting. When I went for my scan a week later there was no sign so I never found out what caused it but all was well and I'm 30 weeks now. I know how terrifying it feels but please don't lose hope. I've read lots of stories similar to mine xxx

Syaa profile image
Syaa in reply toJustStarting1

Hi, yes. My hcg dropped from 7000 to 2890. Next one is on Monday where they’ll confirm if it dropped to zero.

JustStarting1 profile image
JustStarting1 in reply toSyaa

Yes it's dropped but it doesn't mean anything yet. See what happens. I know how difficult it must. Be for you but where possible try to keep calm, if you can keep yourself busy and just see what happens. I'm not religious but I've been praying away through everything over the past year...can't hurt x

Thanks....can I know how much did ur uterine lining measure on d transfer day???

JustStarting1 profile image
JustStarting1 in reply toTwobaby

Oh...eh I can't really remember. I've got 13 in my head the first time and then 11 for the second time I'm sure. Clinic said as long as it was over the minimum which top of my head was about 7 or so then it was good to go. They wouldn't do it otherwise. If you've to take pills and pessaries afterwards that will also continue thickening the lining.

My first time I was super duper careful for two weeks and focussed on every single feeling and twinge. It didn't work.

Second time I went in with the mindset that it hasn't worked (which annoyed the hubby lol) and I just got on with things. No idea if that played a part in it or not x
