Did anybody have NK cells? Hashimotos? Thyroid anti body cell?

Hi lovelies.

Hope every single one of you is in a good place and loved x

Today i received my results of my full thyroid blood work and one thing that was flagged was during my short lived pregnancy my thyroid anti bodies were through the roof. This might have led to my miscarriage.

To keep it short: i was wondering

Anyone with Hashimotos here?

Anyone had NK cells and what is your protocol?

Its another blow and im trying to research it but would love to hear first hand experiences x

I have Hashimoto’s but I’ve managed to get my antibodies down to in range levels. Both antibodies, TGAb and TPOAb were around 200 to begin with. I think it’s pretty much in remission now with levels under 40. Not trying to conceive at the moment. However, it is something that concerns me should I try in the future. What symptoms do you have?

Hey lovely. Thank u so much for replying and so glad to read you have it some what in control (?)

Im hypothyroid and fluctuate between ths 2 and 5.5.

Am on levo now. Main concern and symptoms are irregular periods. Infertility (not conceiving on our

own) miscarriages and the usual hypo symptoms like thinning hair dry skin cold etc.

My tpo anty bodies were 108 [0-22] tested when i was 4 weeks after fet.

Endo said that might be the reason for miscarriage and only thing he can do is make sure my levothyroxine is sufficient (is 2 atm)

Can i ask what one can do to reduce the antibodies ? My endo basically said they will remain untill my thyroid is completely gone and that scares me x

Did u wver consider testing for nk cells i saw a doctor talk abt the relation x

Mimisami,

Hi there, yes I'm a lot better thanks and you can be too. The thing with Hashimoto's is that you have to control the autoimmune response, it's not a dodgy thyroid issue per se. I notice you've also posted in the Thyroid UK forum too. Basically, get a proper thyroid panel, TSH, FT4, FT3. The latter shows conversion of T4 to T3 this is important. You might need to take T3 or NDT to have good levels of T3. A TSH of 5.5 is too high. This is the active thyroid hormone. At the same time, focus on the body, stress, digestion and the autoimmune attack. Some recommend going gluten free which I have also done. Eating a whole foods diet. Make sure vitamin levels are good as these are needed for the thyroid to work properly and Thyroid UK will help you here. However, you need to be digesting and absorbing them too so good digestion comes in. Get rid of processed food. Reduce stress, practice stress management techniques if needed. Get good quality sleep.

Your endo doesn't have a clue all he can do is give you medication.

"My endo basically said they will remain untill my thyroid is completely gone"

This isn't true, you can change this.

"Did u wver consider testing for nk cells i saw a doctor talk abt the relation x"

I've never looked into this.

Have a look at Dr Izabella Wentz' website, she had Hashimoto's and is also in remission, she has lots of excellent advice:

Good luck you can do this x

Thank you for all the information Serendipitious. I have alot to go through (also from the other forum). Since the only advice for now was to keep on the 100mg i will research the diet and stessreduction and my vitamin levels. If this is the reason for my infertility (unexplained so far) then its worth to dive in to it. X thanks again

I have Hashis, didn’t bother testing for NK cells as i was going to have intralipids, steroids and granocyte anyway.

I’m out in Spain prepping for FET now. Had intralipids on Thursday, having 3 x GCSF endometrial Lavage (one yesterday, again on Monday and Wednesday) to help with lining.

Will have another intralipids and start on steroids on transfer day, alongside granocyte.xx

Hi there. Thank you. So glad to read you can continue with your procedures. Did they recommend that protocol for you when they heard u hd hashis? Im nhs and im not sure how to make my doctors work together to change my next protocol xx wishing u the best of lucks x

Thank you! 3rd times the charm (hopefully).

To be honest, it’s been a bit of trial and error. I’ve pushed every time for an immune protocol though and it’s changed each round. I know some of the stuff I’m getting privately they wouldn’t necessarily offer on the NHS as it’s quite recent and it’s not yet NICE approved in the UK. They deffo offer steroid though (when we aren’t in the middle of a pandemic).

My best advice would be to push both of them to talk to each other and if they aren’t then approach PALS in the hospital (I work in commissioning for the NHS and there is really no excuse these days for doctors not working together to help you).xx

Thank you for the advice! I really hope you get success soon. I will ask my endo to write to my clinic. The only thing he said he would mention though is the high tpo and recommend baby asperine (he done that in the past he said to similar cases).

Im seeing my endo privately and its just bothers me that he thinks that ths of 2 is perfect for me to conceive but clearly thats not happening and ive seen recommendations to be closer to 1. Its a never ending battle really xxx

I’m taking 100mg of aspirin and 20mg of clexane daily too. I thought that was more for improving blood flow to endometrial lining, didn’t think it was for immunity issues, but maybe 🤷🏼‍♀️

Yeah, my clinic wanted my TSH closer to 1. I don’t feel well (get hypo symptoms) if it’s not under 1.

The high TPO they’ll probably put you on steroids for (if they can - I believe clinics can’t prescribe them currently).xx

Hi, I have Hashimotos. My blood results were through the roof. Also miscarriages and failed IVFs. When I moved consultant and insisted my thyroid bloods were tested they stopped my embryo transfer immediately.

Never found out if I had NK cells. However, I currently have a healthy 1 year old boy after taking Predisolone Steriod tablets all the way through treatment and up to week 12 scan. Also had to wait for my TSH levels to fall to around 1.

Best wishes

Hi Music. Thank you for sharing your story. Im afraid steroids is off the table with covid19 but in my research i keep seeing people having good outcomes when they had high thyroid tpo

Can i ask what your bloods levels were.

My last panel was when i was just pregnant (lost it at 6-8 weeks) and showed ths of 5 and antibodies of 100. Did you managed ur levels with levothyroxine and the steroids x i wonder even when the steroids are ok again my clinic would consider it. X
