Short protocol timeline!

Hello all,

So I am just waiting on my period to arrive to start our short protocol. Can anyone who has gone through short protocol advise a timescale from first injection to egg retrieval?

I have a holiday in October and I don’t want to have to postpone it for another month! I just wanna get it done now :)

Thanks in advance x

We had a short protocol back in May. I started injections on the 21st May and had egg collection on 3rd June so two weeks. Then another 5 days before egg transfer so we needed to allow 3 weeks for the process with the clinic, then continued meds until test day. Sadly our first try wasn’t meant to be but just starting our first frozen cycle and think our test date will be the day we go on our holiday. Much needed regardless of our result this time. Hope it all goes well and enjoy the holiday!!! X

Thanks for your reply. I haven’t been through ivf before so I am a bit worried that they haven’t got the dose right and I will under stimulate but I guess they know what they are doing! Good luck with your frozen cycle! Fingers crossed for you x

What meds have you been prescribed?

I had two injections each evening (Menopur 4 x 75IU split into two injections) then on day 6 I started Cetrorelix on a morning too. After 10 days my menopur reduced to 3 x 75IU in 1 injection and then on day 12 I did my Gonsai trigger. Day 13 today was ER.

I had just over 10 eggs collected and fertilised with 6 making it to day 5 good grades so we had one put in and 5 frozen.

My friend needed stims till day 17 so all still varies but hope this helps. X

Going through it right now. Depending on how you respond it can vary by a few days and if you are doing a fresh or frozen cycle.

Stims/injections =10 days (+ up to another 4 days depending on how you respond)

+

Booster = 2 days followed by egg retrieval

+

Implantation procedure follows 2/3/4/5 days later.

I got a scan and bloods on day 10 and that's when they adjust meds to suit your response.

Hope that helps as a bit of a guide. xx
