Hello ladies. I'm currently waiting for my period which is due on Saturday so that I can then start my first round of IVF, however I started getting spotting on Tuesday, 4 days before period was due. At first I thought nothing much of it and thought my period was early but it I'd now Thursday and I'm still spotting but not enough to stain my underwear or fill a tampon, just a small amount of pink/red blood when I wipe.
I've never really had spotting before a period so I am really confused what is going on. Dr Google doesn't help much because everywhere I read it says it's implantation bleeding but I don't want to get my hopes up after nearly 2 years TTC and nothing happening! I've gotten my hopes up so many times in the past, reading into every single little feeling I have and convincing myself I'm pregnant but never have been! But this is something different to what I've had before, coupled with tender boobs and a slight ache in my lower back and small twinges in my uterus, but again I might just be reading in to things that aren't there!
Sorry for the long post, just really confused and would appreciate any suggestions / advice / stories from anyone who has had similar.
Xxx

Hey, I used to always spot before my periods and it can be a sign of low progesterone so be sure to mention it to your clinic when you start IVF as they may want to give you a higher dosage after transfer just to help the pregnancy along. I’ve never had implantation bleeding but from what I understand you probably wouldn’t keep getting pink/fresh blood for more than a day or two - but you never know! Some people do get spotting in early pregnancy. Best thing to do is test when your period is due (easier said than done, I know). Best of luck with your IVF! x
Thank you for your reply! I am going to just try and wait and see if my period comes on Saturday as expected and yeah will definitely mention it to the nurse.
