Going again... success stories?

So had my follow up app from my failed FET. This was a 5AA blastocyst. Yet this is a second 5AA that failed. I have been accepted to do my next fet last week. My prof said he was happy with protocol and believes it was just a bit of bad luck. He has full faith in me... Is there anyone had success straight after a failed FET? This will be my third transfer? 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻xx

I hate to say it but the element of luck is huge. I fell pregnant with my first transfer (second cycle), and have a gorgeous 2.5 year old. 4 failed FETs of 5AA hatching Frosties from the same batch later, it feels like there’s no rhyme or reason. Embryos were top notch and now three years younger than I am, I’ve proven I can carry a pregnancy... Wish you good luck and hope this is your time!

You could check with a miscarriage specialist that there aren’t any implantation issues or reasons for it not working such as having elevated nk cells or sticky blood. I don’t find the ivf clinics as on it with that stuff. The other thing is, did you have your embryos screened for chromosome abnormalities? If they have them that might also be the reason they’re not implanting.

Hey Hun... I have had all the tests done as I had 2 ectopics and 3MC before I started ivf. I haven’t got any issues as now a mindfield. Xxx

I’m sorry about your ectopic and miscarriages. I suppose it’s good there’s nothing wrong in that sense. Wish you so much luck xx

Hi hun , yes my 3rd FET was a success I’m now 12 weeks pregnant with fraternal twins! I would suggest you tell your doctor to try the lovonox, Claritin/Pepcid protocol it really works for implantation and people who have not had success with good quality embryo transfers! You will love me for it! Please keep me updated ❤️🌈👶 dust to you

Hi Scarymc your story is so similar to mine. 5AA transferred on two cycles and both ended in chemical pregnancies. I have my follow up today with the consultant so hoping for some suggestions. I will let you know if he says anything different.

Best wishes for your up and coming FET 🤞🏻 I'm also hoping to start in September 🤞🏻

Awww it’s horrendous isn’t it. How are feeling? What are you going to ask. My prof said there wasn’t anything to change. I hope all goes well with app xxxx

I was devastated last week and climbed into bed for two days but feeling determined this week and keep on seeing the time between starting again as a break and come back stronger. How are you feeling?

Im going to ask about testing progesterone levels on day of transfer and change in protocol. However, I think he may say the same as your prof and go with the same as before. I have two frosties (5AB and a 4AA) so will be doing a double transfer this time. My hubby is having kittens though 😂😂😂

Xxx

I had a 5AB and a 4AB transferred separately and neither took. No reason given by my consultant other than luck and that at my age (37 at egg collection) 60% of my embryos would be abnormal. We transferred 2 x 4BB’s on my 3rd go and 1 took.

I remember being terrified after 2 failed FETs with good grades so I really feel you, but don’t give up hope. Sending loads of luck xx

Awww Thankyou so much. This ivf journey is the hardest experience.. I just wish it would be a simple thing xxx

I tend to agree with the others, it really does feel like luck and a numbers game.

I have a friend who did 7 rounds of FET, her embryo quality got worse and worse and her 7th round was by far her worst quality - he is 2 next month. She didnt do anything different on any rounds apart from a scratch on round 4 that did nothing.

I have another friend who did 9 FETs, again using up all her good embryos first. She put the last two back in as she didnt want to throw them away but they were literally terrible quality. One of those is now a 3yo little boy. She then randomly got pregnant naturally and has a one year old - having been told she never would.

I have been told its a case of keep going at it and it will happen. it might be your 1st time it might be your 7th, just because it didnt happen on 1,2,3 etc doesnt necessarily correlate with it not happening another cycle if there is nothing obviously wrong. My nurse keeps saying if you throw enough at it one of them will stick.

keep soldiering on xx

Yeah that’s really good advice... Iam usually a positive person but 3 years of multiple of losses you just get to that point why do I bother xxxxxxxxxx

in reply to Rose_1983

Believe me I hear you! I am about to start round 5 but have always had to do fresh rounds, I have had one IVF MMC and 3 natural ones over the past 5 years TTC and it takes me a LONG time to muster up the energy to keep going as I do think 'whats the point' but I also can't bear the thought of stopping and ending up childless.. so here I go again! I really hope the next round is the one for you but also really really recommend if you need a break take one, because it just wears you down so much and you defo need to try and find a positive mindset (says me who may even start next week and is thinking 'it won't work') xx
