Hi, I am hoping for some reassuring stories as I have had brown blood for last three day’s and the hospital can not scan me until I am 6 weeks. Has anyone else had anything like this? Starting to really panic! Thanks very much in advance xx

Hiya, i am 8 and a bit weeks pregnant now and I had the same thing happen to me just before 6 weeks. Brown spotting and enough to see in my pants and when i wipe. I've since had some bright red bleeds too, and been spotting brown blood ever since. I've so far had 3 scans , 2 at the local nhs epau and one at 7 weeks with the private clinic. All have shown a teeny baby with a heartbeat. I had loads of bleeding with my first pregnancy with my daughter and she was fine. However, it's terrifying, i totally know how you're feeling. Despite having the scans, i still feel extremely anxious and nervous every time i go the loo. The midwives have all said to me that brown blood is very normal. But even with this reassurance, i am still anxious. My advice would be to try and take each day as it comes, distraction helps like seeing a friend or watching a good film and put down google. Really hope you get good news at your scan xx

Hello! Thank you so much for your reply and congratulations on your pregnancy! It’s all so scary isn’t it. I keep going to the toilet to check. I tried to get in at the EPU but they said I was too early and wouldn’t be able to tell either way. It really slowed down yesterday but today is really noticeable.

I am pleased you have got to see a heartbeat. That’s really lovely news. Thanks for the advice, I need to try and take my mind off it which is hard though! Xx

Hey, I think quite a lot of women experience this sadly. I had from brown, to pink to quite heavy red bleeds until I was around 7 weeks pregnant. I’m now 30 weeks so I hope this can give you some reassurance. I think our bodies and hormones take time to adapt to the pregnancy & it’s more normal than we think. Lots of luck for your scan, hoping everything goes well for you Xx🙏🏻

Hi, I’m 6 weeks today and started spotting with some brown on Friday (5 weeks 4 days) so similar to you. I rang clinic This morning and am booked in for a scan on Wednesday. It’s so hard waiting. Hoping everything is ok for us both xxx

I’ve had light bleeding at 5 weeks in all three FET cycles that resulted in a pregnancy. One ended, two went on to have very heavy bleeding with clots at 6 weeks. Of those two, I lost one at 11 weeks (genetically normal embryo, unknown reason) and am currently 38w3d with the third. I don’t think bleeding means anything one way or the other. For me it seemed to be a response to the medicated cycle, as I did not have any bleeding in my three natural or one fresh IVF cycle pregnancies.
