Our first cycle - fail.

Hi, we have just had ICSI, collection 16 eggs from 30 follicles.

11 matured 5 fertilised. 5 day 5 blastocysts 1 fresh embryo transfer and then day 6 the blastocyst not good enough grade to freeze apparently.

Thought it had worked but I came on early after spotting for a couple of days. Gutted but will go again next month. It’s cost about £11,000 so far.

Not due to test until Friday, although had two negatives and now a period bleed, nurses said I’ve still got to use the pessaries which is quite sad and grosse. Just want to move on from this one now.

Thank you, last chance next time so hopefully it's a good and successful cycle. We will move on and look to adopt if this doesn't work.

Hi Kez

I’m really sorry this round has not worked. Your figures are not far from mine and it’s horrible watching the numbers just drop off so dramatically. I’m not sure from your message if you have a few frozen still or if none were suitable for freezing? Have you got your follow up arranged with the consultant? Perhaps they can provide you some information as to quality etc or suggestions of what can be done differently for your next round.

Take care of yourself for now and allow yourself some luxuries to get through xxx

Thank you, none frozen. They have suggested AOA this next time. It's our last cycle so fingers crossed. Have you heard of AOA? It's injected into the egg with the sperm, seems there could be a sperm defat as the embryos didn't continue to grow after day 5 / 6.

Hello, yes I heard of it and by the time I read up on it I was already at embryos stage so it was too late to ask! But I definitely want to use it on my next round. If you look at Italy300618 profile you will see that she used it on her last cycle and was successful. I think it does help when it’s male factor. Not sure if you’ve used IMSI this time or PGS testing as you could also consider those for next round? xx

Thank you I will take a look at the profile and the others you have mentioned. My Dr just advised the AOA but I would be interested to find out more. xx

Another girl had this a while ago and had a successful pregnancy..... abcgirl . You could maybe check out her profile too. As far as I'm aware it's more to help with the fertilisation part of the eggs.xx
