6wk ultrasound, no heartbeat - am I still pregnant?!

Hi! Was wondering if anyone had an ultrasound at 6wks, no heartbeat, but still went on to have a successful pregnancy. That’s where we’re at right now and very worried. My fear is also...my light symptoms have faded. Trying to stay hopeful. Any stories of encouragement??

I believe it quite common not to find a heartbeat at 6 weeks as everything is still so tiny. Were they able to see a sac? Wishing you lots of luck xx

Thank you! Yes, we were able to see the sac and yolk. Could barely make out a fetal pole. Thanks again!

Hi Hopingmommy. Now you know why I always preferred doing the scan at 7 weeks. Sometimes little one is slow to start growing properly after transfer, and has to catch up. I so hope this is the case wit you. Keeping everything crossed for your repeat scan. Do continue with an prescribed medication you have. Thinking of you. Diane

Thank you oh so very much! We’re nervous but keeping hopeful. I hope that is the case as well - that our little nugget just needed more time to catch up and grow! It was our last embryo after two failed transfers. This truly helped.

With my twins, one had a heart beat and the other an empty sac at 6 weeks and then week 7 I had two heart beats and now my twins are 3 months old :) good luck xx

I had my FET on the 30/8 and got my positive test on the 8/9 and 23/9 I had my first scan where they said I was approx 5/6 weeks if this helps. Then my next scan was 1/10 where they found both heartbeats :)

Hopefully its just a bit soon. There is always a risk that scanning at 6wks will cause more anxiety as it can be too early to see the heartbeat. Hopefully you have a repeat booked soon and you get reassurance. Good luck.xx

Do you know the size of your baby? If it's under 5 mm, it's perfectly normal not to have a heartbeat yet. Fingers crossed!

I do not know the size. I know the doctor mentioned it was smaller than he would like but scheduled me for a repeat ultrasound in 11 days. We’re hoping he/she just needs more time to catch up and will see a heartbeat next time! Thank you for your response! Can use all the encouragement!! ❤️

Yes I had this, it was too small to see a heartbeat. I'm now at 16 weeks. We didn't bother with the follow up scan because I thought they were just trying to make more money!

Fingers crossed all will be good at your next scan but am sure it will be.

Thank you!! Trying to stay hopeful. I know everyone and every pregnancy is different, but during the time between one scan and the next...we’re you experiencing “classic” pregnancy symptoms??

I’m very worried, I am not 😔

Keep the faith! I had nauseau and fatigue only, not sure when they started but only lasted until maybe wk 11 or so. I'll cross my everything for you. 🤞🤞

My little one didn’t have a heartbeat at 6 weeks (I panicked and the midwife didn’t help telling me it could go either way), I thought I was 8 weeks and I was just earlier than expected, well she proved them wrong and was an active little bean with a very strong heartbeat at 8 weeks! Apparently it’s normal not to see it at 6 weeks as the chambers of their heart are still forming and the yolk sac is their main source of life xx

Thank you so much!! Here’s hoping!’

Also, I know that every pregnancy and everyone is different, but during the time I’m between scans, did you have symptoms? Did you feel “pregnant”? Thanks again for your word of encouragement!

Mine came and went, and really all I’ve had is vomiting and sore boobs, I’d be fine for days on end and then have days where I’d cling to the toilet xx
