No heartbeat at 7 weeks..

I had a 6 week scan at my private IVF clinic who confirmed a heartbeat. Due to being so paranoid I booked a second private scan at a different ultrasound clinic more locally. This morning at 7 weeks 3 days they said they couldn’t see a heartbeat. I have been told to contact EPU for a follow up. Has anyone else had same experience with positive results? I also am going to call my clinic tomorrow - I text them on the emergency number and they said to wait a week and continue taking the medication. As we have done this privately everything is so expensive and I don’t want to waste medication if it isn’t successful this time. Any thoughts or experiences you can share?

Hi, sorry that you had to experience this. I would continue taking meds until you will get confirmation from EPU, remember that different sonographers has different machines and skills. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you 🤞

I’m so sorry I would defo push for a scan asap at EPU or your clinic to confirm 😢 as limbo is not what you want and shouldn’t be needed at over 7 weeks when you already seen a heartbeat last week! Xx

I'm so sorry to see this - I would also be pushing for another scan ASAP not waiting a week. If they've already seen a heartbeat then it seems silly to wait a week - what are they waiting for? I would give them a call back and ask them. Sending love xx

That's so sad but good to hear they took good care of you. I had a similar experience at my local EPU - my clinic were rubbish.

Yea it's heartbreaking - you think it's hard enough getting a BFP - this just blows your mind - hope you're looking after yourself / being looked after xx
