So today was baseline scan day, I have 5 Antral follicles on my left ovary and only 1 on my right π. Feeling a bit disappointed that there doesnβt appear to be much action on my right ovary as my last cycle I had 3 on my right and 4 on left.
Guess being a year older now (age 44) makes a huge difference. I am trying to remain positive and just think potentially could have 6 eggs, in past always managed 5-8 and I have to expect this will go down the older I get.
Start with buserelin injections tonight for 3 nights then start Gonal f tomorrow night. Excited but apprehensive .... π€πΌππ»
Has anyone else had quite a low follicle count on baseline scan and went on to have success?

Hi @Hope76 - In my experience the number of follicles at baseline scan didn't reflect the number of follicles at collection. I used to be very stressed out by baseline scans and then stopped worrying about them.
Baseline scan = 3 follicles I was gutted. I managed to squeeze out another 2 little ones by egg collection day, but they were too small to be worth it. Got 3 fertilised eggs. My right one was really lazy for me and only produced 1, but that's the one is in me now (5 weeks pregnant) and I've got x2 in the freezer. Grow a few quality ones as it only takes one for the magic to happen. Wish you the best of luck xxxx
Fantastic, huge congratulations to you especially after thinking you had such low numbers. I am thinking positive now .... quality over quantity ππππ»π€πΌ
