If this is your first scan they will be checking that you don't have any cysts etc. You may have some follicles, but the second scan is where you will see how you're responding to the medication, and that's when to start counting those little follies! Xx

Ah so I'm not sure as I did the short protocol both times, but I presume it's the same, if you haven't started stimming yet then I would think nothing would have grown just yet? But like I say I've not been on the long protocol before xx

I was going to post a very similar thing! My baseline scan & trial embryo transfer is booked for tomorrow morning! A little apprehensive but I'm sure it'll all be fine 😊🌌

Baseline scan for me was super quick as just checking you have shed your lining and are down regulated.

Hey Tw1986

You won't get details of eggs at baseline scan. They sometimes note down the amount of follicles they can see but don't worry if they don't or if there are not that many as until you start stims and have your update scans it's very difficult to pick them up!

Good luck you are getting there xx

I was long protocol. They only looked at the lining on my baseline and gave the go ahead to start stims.

In terms of numbers of follicles, try not to get hooked up on the numbers -easy to say and not easy to do! I don't think the clinics give you statistics for number of eggs collected versus success rates as it's all on quality not quantity. Good luck for the scan x

They'll not be checking your follicles until you start stimming, they'll be checking that you have shed your lining just now. Even once you start stimming, it will be the 2nd scan that will give you a clearer picture of how many follicles, what size etc - don't get caught up with the 1st one - that is just checking that you are being stimulated. Good luck to you x
