Baseline scan

So I had my baseline scan today. 11 follicles in my right ovary and 5 in my left. Is this good? Can I grow more?

I had 14 follicles. I got 9 mature eggs and 2 top quality embryos made it to blastocyst. Don’t worry too much about numbers. It’s about quality really.

Dunno, everyone’s different. Mine stayed the same but they were more concerned with the quality of them.

I had 16 follicles by day 6 of stims, then 20 by day 8, 29 by day 10 and the last scan on day 12 of stims I had 31 follicles. However a lot were small and at egg collection I had 12 eggs collected. Of those 12 eggs, 7 fertilised and two made it to day 5 blastocyst and were transferred back in yesterday. So in my experience I definitely grew more but not so sure this was a good thing as quality is better than quantity! And my ovaries hurt a lot by half way though stims upto about 5 days after egg collection. The bloating was insane! Hope this helps and good luck x

Everyone is different I think. But I would imagine other follicles currently too small to see may grow big enough to read on the scans over the course of the stims, but for some people they won't be able to catch up with the others so might not produce an egg I think they care more about them growing at the same rate so it's balanced and they can get them at a similar size for collection. 16 is a fabulous number ! Thank you! I’m trying not to stress too much but I have been awfully upset this weekend. Just trying to chill now so hopefully lots of healthy ones grow. I’m eating lots of protein. X

My clinic doesn’t count the number of follicles at baseline scan to avoid any unnecessary stress. I have my follow up scan tomorrow ( day 8 of stims) looking forward to finding out how many follicles I have 😀 I am really bloated now x
