Thanks to those of you who answered my question the other day.
My transfer is this morning at 11am I am getting myself into a bit of a pickle over what I drink. I am not a coffee, tea or a hot drink kind of person. I only ever really drink fizzy drinks.
I have reduced my caffeine so I don’t take coke anymore really but I replaced this with Sprite Zero as it doesn’t contain caffeine
Am I okay to be drinking sprite after my transfer? I would love to stop but I don’t know how 😕.
What did you all drink? Did anyone keep drinking their fizzy?
Thanks ladies

I would say dont ever drink Sprite zero or Coke zero or any diet fizzy as it contains aspartame which is fake sugar...basically a chemical. And definately not when your pregnant. If you do drink fizzy just get the regular stuff. Do you not like any fruit juice? If its the fizziness you like you could always add soda water to fruit juice to make it fizzy? I've done it its really yummy! But when your pregnant you really do need to drink alot of just plain old water. Add a slice of lemon to it so it's not so boring 😊 good luck for your transfer tomorrow xxx
I’m the same as you really bad with fizzy drinks, mine is irn bru (love the stuff) at the moment I am just having 2 cans a day as I worked out 2 cans is less than the caffeine in one tea or coffee anyway. I’ve been drinking water too but putting in lemon and lime or just a splash of juice to sweeten it. This is what I did too in my last ivf and I had a successful pregnancy with my little girl who is now 2 and half xx
Thanks Laura, I am a former irn bru fan. I take you as proof that you can have a baby and drink fizzy. I will try what you said. I also like Capri sun so thinking of switching it up a bit like this. Don’t why after 2 years of preparing I am stressing about these things on the morning of the transfer. Congratulations on the birth of your daughter xx
Good luck with your transfer & try to not stress over the small stuff, if you want a can of Coke then just have one and treat yourself I am proof that an irn bru guzzler can still have a successful pregnancy ha ha x
Don’t be worrying about this stuff right now pet. Just focus on your transfer. There’s people who get pregnant doing a zillion things.
Clear the stress, you’re doing the best YOU can . Allow yourself to relax and be happy with how you’ve chosen to do YOUR journey. I drink one real coffee a day and decaf the rest but if I really struggle I’ll have another coffee in the afternoon. I figure a happy mind is better than one tortured over details that might not really be a variable .
Be kind to yourself 😘😘😘😘😘
You’ve got this!
😘💐💐💐
All the best with your transfer 🤩🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻💖💖💖💐💐💐💐💐😘
Thank you RhinoCat for your lovely message and encouragement. You are right I should not be to hard on myself. I spoke to the embryologist today and she just said everything in moderation so that’s what I will try. Thanks again you have been so sweet and it is definitely what I needed to hear today ❤️❤️
Ahh, here's to a successful transfer - happy calm thoughts and positive energy for your baby you are welcoming!
Hmmm it's a tough one - we are all in charge of what we put into our bodies, and we all make our personal choices...Aspartame isn't good for us...lots of science behind it, so if you can avoid it, wonderful! Sugar and caffeine in Coke increases inflammation, which can negatively impact implantation, so you have to do what's right for you.
I find fizzy water with a dash of juiced ginger & lemon is delicious! Reduced inflammation and helps support the liver. Ginger has so many brilliant "qualities" - read more here greenmedinfo.com/node/83545 if you're interested.
Best of luck! Hopefully we'll all be congratulating you soon!
