I started my first ivf cycle in August and from that I have 3 frozen blastocysts... I was unable to have a fresh transfer as I was high risk for OHSS ...
We had an appointment a couple of days ago and were told that our three little Frosties are grade A and two C’s... which we were pleased to hear...
The frozen transfer will go ahead with my next natural cycle and I am due around the 19th of September ... I have never had ivf before though so I don’t really know what will happen after that. My clinic said that after my period starts I’ll have a blood test around ten days in and then they can tell me after that when the transfer will be... surely there will be a scan before transfer too?
I also wondered about alcohol... I cut my drinking right down from June as I knew we were starting in August and I have hardly drank at all... when I have I have limited myself to two or three... I am going on a family holiday from the 16th - 23rd of September so should I be drinking even occasionally? Or is it worth cutting it out completely?

hiya..aw so exciting to be transferring soon! I haven't had a natural FET only medicated so im unsure about the scan but other ladies on here will know. As for alcohol, its a personal choice, for me I cut it out completely because I knew if things didn't work id blame myself. but plenty of ladies continue to drink until transfer and go on to have successful pregnancies xox
Thank you! To be honest that’s why I cut my alcohol intake right down a couple of months before I knew we would be starting the cycle... i have no interest in it at the moment to be honest anyways and I can count on one hand how many I’ve had in the last month... I just wondered how others felt about it...and if it would be ok to have a couple on holiday as I know everyone else will be drinking... I guess you’re right about it being a personal choice... just have to decide what I’m happy with I guess...xx
the medical advice from my clinic was that drinking alcohol within the standard allowed units up until the point of transfer would have no effect on success rates if that's any help xo
Thank you... so you need a dominant follicle for a transfer to go ahead? I was told that I would be using Ovitrelle but only after the transfer has taken place ...
From the 2 times iv done it they are definitely looking for it and then they measure it to see its size of it as that indicates where you are in ur cycle and when it is a certain size you use the ovitrelle (trigger needle) and transfer is 7 days later (I had a 5 day old frozen embryo)
