I don't think it makes a difference to your transfer but if you hopefully get pregnant the recommended limit is 2 cups of coffee (200mg) per day. I think tea has less caffeine so you're under the limit, unless you prefer to cut it out altogether. Fingers crossed for you xxx
Yes, yes yes, give yourself THE best chance of housing your embryo in a nourishing environment Giving up caffeine for this short amount of time could reduce any potential increase in stress hormone cortisol. I gave up caffeine during my successful IVF cycle and got the taste for PG Tips decaf x
MissSaoPaulo is right.Pregnant women are allowed up 200mg of caffeine daily. I personally think by depriving yourself of any treats is more stressful. I continued as normal ( it wasn’t IVF) & had a BFP who is now my 4 month old daughter. You must do whatever you feel is right. Good luck & hope you get your BFP xxx
Thanks ladies, I think I’ll cut down to 1 cup and see how I get on. If it’s not too bad I might as well just cut it out for the meantime... hope you’re all doing well xx
The average cup of tea has 40mg of caffeine in it so you are still well under the 200mg a day mark. If you still wanted 2 a day there are a couple of things you can do to reduce the caffeine content. The longer you leave the teabag in the cup, the more caffeine is released so take it out sooner than you usually would and make it slightly cooler than normal as the hotter the water the more caffeine is released. Hope this helps x
Ooo that is really helpful - thank you! Great tips 😬💖
I second the ladies 1 or 2 cups of tea isn't going to be problematic! Well under the recommended caffeine - but i would say be really careful with decaf tea and coffee, they use all sorts of chemicals with most decaf products, they would do more harm than caffine, so do a bit of research perhaps if you want to go decaf. Good luck, enjoy your small treats and comforts xx
Found this earlier today on the coca-cola website, really helps to work out how much caffeine you're consuming (even chocolate bars contain caffeine apparently!) coca-cola.co.uk/stories/hea...
Me neither! Also didn't realise how much there is in Diet Coke, and that there is less in espresso than filter coffee (which seems backwards to me?). Good to know though!
