Morning lovely ladies, hope you are all doing ok and sending lots of love and luck to those going into FET this week or in their 2WW.
Just wanted to ask if anyone has any positive experiences of spotting in weeks 6 and 7? I am 6 weeks today, the last 24hrs I've had period type cramps, not too painful just dull and achy, but new and unlike any of the other twinges I've had in the last few weeks. Started spotting last night, so of course that's something new to worry about now. I've let the clinic know and they've said to monitor it but I wondered if anyone has anything similar? I've read it can be a number of things but it just seems to be another unfair thing to go through, nothing about this process is simple or stress free, I could really use a couple of weeks of just no bad symptoms because I just feel like I am waiting to see if it gets worse.
Sorry to be a downer first thing

I don't have any answers for you, but I'm having the same thing. I'm 5 weeks tomorrow and had the smallest amount of brown spotting (sorry if that's TMI) last night and I've had on and off period like cramps since transfer day.
The spotting and cramps happened around the same time when I had a miscarriage from a natural pregnancy in March. *BUT* it could also be nothing to worry about. SOOOOO UNFAIR!
Are you on pessaries? If so are they going in the front? (again sorry so much TMI) because I'm telling myself that that is the reason for the cramping and small spotting.
Do you have you scan coming up soon? Don't think I'll be able to relax until then (and probably not even then!)
All the luck for a healthy and happy pregnancy going out to you. Hopefully this is just a little scare in an otherwise lovely experience. xxx
Hi, I'm 6 weeks today. I'm on cyclogen pessaries (front!) and have had light cramps over a couple of days. Have been pregnancy before and didn't have them. Convinced it's the pessaries as they've given me so many other symptoms - bloating, terrible spots etc. Focusing on being positive
Went for a blood test this afternoon and my levels looked fine. They recommended switching to the back for the cyclogen. Us women really know how to have fun! Xx
The pessaries can cause bleeding something to do with small capillaries I think. Basically try in the back and see see if things settle down. Also total TMI but the back is less messy as what goes up doesn't come down! Silver lining.
I was told by my clinic if I had any light spotting not to worry as it’s normal. I had very slight spotting when I did my pessary so think it was that. When you look at symptoms for weeks 6/7 cramping and spotting is normal but I know it doesn’t help the worry.
I did a test in the end to ease my mind - although was so scared & it was a really strong positive so it helped but in all honesty I didn’t really rest until I had my viability scan.
When is yours?
Hope you’re ok. Sending positive thoughts to you xxx
Thank you for this, that's helped calm me a bit. My scan isn't until a week today, feels like such a long way to go. I feel gutted because I was doing so well mentally for the last 2 weeks, not worrying about every little twinge i had, but when you get cramps that feel exactly like low key period pains its hard not to associate it with that and worry. xx
I called the clinic but they just said to wait and monitor, it’s frustrating but they didn’t seem too concerned on the phone. I guess I should take some comfort in that, I just that when you get the bfp good news that you could be worry free for a while.
I had the same brown spotting when I rang my clinic they weren’t bothered. It’s common in early pregnancies. I also had period like cramps the whole time to 🤦🏽♀️ like your clinic said just keep monitoring if it starts to get heavy then call again. I ended up paying to get an early scan as I didn’t want to wait xxxx
Thank you, that’s so reassuring, it sounds awful doesn’t it but just hearing from other women who have been through similar (all be it not nice) is just so comforting. X
Oh I no it’s so hard at the beginning you worry about everything 🤦🏽♀️ wish you all the best xx
Hi, I’m similar to what Sorax has explained. I had brown spotting in weeks 6-8 and I’ve had mild cramping most days too, I’m now 18 weeks and the cramping has been easing up over last few weeks but still there at times. My fertility specialist and obstetrician have both said it’s completely normal. Hope you start to feel better. All the best.
Thank you!! So much!! If it wasn’t for these replies it would all be that much harder. I know there are no certainties but it’s just nice to have someone tell you these things don’t have to be the worst outcomes. I appreciate it x
