Brown spotting to celebrate the 6 week mark

This pregnancy has a sense of humour, I've decided. Not that I'm finding any of it funny but if all goes well, it is mildly amusing. So I have been a little bit nauseated on and off over the last 10 days but this morning I woke up ready to throw up. I didn't but it was as close as I've been to it. Went back to bed deliriously happy despite feeling like sh*t.. fast forward a few hours and one thing leads to another and I end up staying a bit longer than I intended to, if you know what I mean... πŸ˜‰ (it's been months ladies, don't @ me!). So now, at lunchtime I notice brown spotting in a snot like texture (soz). Very light, a bit like the leftover stuff at the end of your period. But of course, cue impending heart attack! Mr Google tells me it's normal (or rather it CAN be normal...!) especially after sex or an orgasm (why the fck are we allowed no joy!?!) so I've stopped hyperventilating. Nausea is still here, boobs are killing me and I could spend all day lying down if I could so I'm hoping it's nothing but for all I know it could be the beginning of the end. As I'm 9 days away from the scan there is fck all I can do about it so let's hope it doesn't become red or intense over the next couple of days. Seriously ladies, this is BS. All of it.

Cue heart attacks at every twinge and cramp! 🀣 I had spotting at 10 weeks and almost expired on the spot! πŸ˜… It isn't normal but it IS common in early pregnancy. And yes! What you are feeling is normal...and no, I'm pretty sure we aren't allowed to have a carefree pregnancy! πŸ˜‚ My nurse and FS told me that I only needed to be upset if the spotting turned red and I started to cramp. So fingers crossed that everything stays light and goes away! 🀞 Hubby and I refrained until after 13 weeks since I needed extra stress and heart attacks like a hole in the head. I'm still crazy stressed and worried at 16 weeks and it doesn't help that I have hyperemesis gravidarum! 🀣 Try to enjoy when you aren't nauseous...seriously. Just take it each day at a time. Each bathroom trip without blood or bad cramping is pretty much how I measure time. πŸ™„ Good luck and best wishes! 🀞

It is awful isn't it?! 10 hours later I have a clean tissue but obviously still freaked out a bit.. they did not tell me I'd be holding my breath whilst lowering my underwear in pregnancy! What is this nonsense... in my next life I'm having a kid at 16 I swear to god!

Thanks for your lovely message and hope the hg eases up for you. 😘😘😘😘

Hi Bella, I also had a bad episode of spotting, or rather a dark red/brown blob of old blood at 4 and a half weeks and have since struggled to remain positive about this pregnancy. My scan is booked for Monday and I really hope that I won’t receive the dreaded news, as I did back in Feb. I am having zero symptoms, which does not help either. At least you have the nausea to keep reminding you that something is happening down there. When is your scan booked for? Good luck for the rest of your journey. It sucks so much that we can’t just relax once we get our BFP. Some of my friends announced their pregnancy at around 6weeks which I find astounding (!) but of course, as they were all natural there was probably less chance of things going wrong. The world feels so unfair sometimes for us people having to deal with all this bs xx

I hear you. It's shit and I hate it all. Also because of all the injections I'm still doing every day without any certainty.. And yes the nausea is somewhat reassuring but you can have ALL the symptoms and still have a blighted ovum.. You say that about ivf pregnancies but I miscarried both my "natural" ones. I mean, don't get me wrong, I had a LOT more fun getting pregnant that way but I thought the chances were slightly higher with a fully formed blastocyst? Who knows.. I just know that I want to fast forward about 34 weeks! Scan is next Wednesday, ie a lifetime away. Best of luck for Monday, I really mean it. And don't worry, my mum loves to remind me that she had NO symptoms with any of us. Xoxo

Speaking to me girl. A broody woman like me should have started early. I did start though but death of child at 2 , one dead marriage and another infertile one plus career robbed me a lot of chances.

Hang in there.

I am still in shock cos I tried for 10 years and just found out 2 days ago. Feeling morning sickness earlier than usual, sore boobs, worried now and then but doing yoga and meditation. Too tired . Very tired but hopeful

I had this before . Don't worry about it. If it continues or increasing ask them to check progesterone,

Thank you. It did stop within 12 hours. I last had progesterone measured 2 weeks ago at 12dp5dt and it was 150. On the basis that it was quite high and that I'm still doing a lubion injection daily plus 800mg of pessaries I'm hoping it's ok. I'm still stuck in this frikkin quarantine for 5 more days. Can't wait for my scan on Wednesday. I'll be 7+2 weeks.

Hey sorry you are going through this. I don't know if this helps ( hope it does) I had brown spotting between 6-14 weeks with my 2 year old daughter even had fresh blood with clots at 10 weeks. No one could tell me where the blood was coming from but it wasn't anything to do with the baby! It was a very worrying time. I can also say with me there is huge difference between pregnancy spotting and a miscarriage- I have 4 losses ( 3 early and 1 at 20 weeks) the blood is bright red typically accompanied with cramping and once it gets going it does not ease like pregnancy spotting does in fact it tends to get heavier until the pregnancy is expelled. All the midwives were not worried at all by brown spotting only if it turned red and heavy bleeding usually with severe cramps would they say it was a concern, In this pregnancy I've learned the brown spotting is caused my progesterone- one night I didn't put one in and had no brown spotting. I would say yours is also likely to be too. Midwives told me pregnancy spotting is incredibly common and all my friends and family have had spotting but have gone onto have a healthy baby, I hope your scan isn't too long to wait and can offer reassurance to you, I know mine has! Early weeks pregnant are anxious time even more so after infertility and any previous losses, Spotting can be sometimes a sign of over doing things again I've had this when I've over done with my daughter it's hard not to! Do rest as much as possible 😊 I'm sure it'll be ok Xx
