Very low SHBG - sex hormone binding globulin

Hi ladies,

A blood test showed that my SHBG - sex hormone binding globulin is slightly below the normal range.

Has anyone hot this and does anyone know what are the implications of this?

Hi Lilly. So sorry to hear this, but I assume you are under the care of an endocrinologist? He/she will hopefully be able to balance your hormones properly, especially this one that is linked to insulin. I have spoken with several ladies who had successful treatment and went on to have babies. Good luck! Diane

Hi Diane, thank you for your reply. I have a referral to an endocrinologist but given covid, The waiting list might be a year said my GP and by then I will be too old to have a child (being already nearing 44). So I am trying to understand the problem. If you have any information it would be immensely appreciated.

Hi lilly. You can see a private endocrinologist if thats something you want. Im planning to see one privately xx.
