I’ve recently been dealing with serum clinic in Athens. They have sent me a prescription however I cannot get a pharmacy to accept it as it’s just in an email.
Can I ask how everyone else has dealt with this who’s went abroad for treatment?
Thanks

Can you ask them to send the hard copy in the post to you? Most places will take one from abroad if you have the original....Asda took mine for a different Athens clinic. There is a clinic in London that usually dispenses with an email but the last I heard they werent operating as usual due to covid.xx
Can I ask what clinic you went with in Athens? We’re you happy with them? It’s looking like I’ll have to ask for the hard copy or else go to my doctor and ask him to write out a prescription here for me!
Hi Joy, We arent allowed to name clinics but happy to share info if you want it. I honestly cant complain about my clinic though the coordinator is who I have the most dealings with and she is amazing! Yes a hard copy is the only way to go if your clinic dont have an agreement with a named pharmacy over here.xx
Excellent! The post doesnt take too long from Athens. Good luck. I was gonna say the other options are fertility 2u and stork but Im not sure if they accept emailed prescriptions either?! It actually worth comparing prices depending on what meds you are ordering. Im just doing an FET so Asda is the cheapest for me.xx
My clinic has agreements with both Stork and Fertility 2 U and they do accept email prescription. Each time they post you out some meds though you are charged £40 admin fee.
Cinderella is right, the posted prescription is the right way to go, just make sure they don’t just print out what they’ve email you (which is what my clinic did to me), it needs to be a “wet” signature and also have your date of birth and home address on it (which my clinic also don’t routinely do).
Good luck sorting it all out. It’s deffo one of the most trick parts of treatment abroad that the clinics just don’t warn you about.xx
I use online pharmacies quite regularly. You order your product and pay, your clinic sends the prescription to them directly and 1 or 2 days later they deliver. I previously asked my clinic to send the hard copy in but it took 2 weeks and I needed the meds urgently. Can’t say the name but google online ivf meds and they come up after the ads. Happy to pm the name of you are interested
Hi Bozo the pumpkin. That would be amazing if you could PM me. I think we’re going to need a lot of drugs as we go through this and would be easy to have something set up that’s been tried and tested. I’m nervous about which one to choose. Just incase I get anything fake.
