I was on Prostap for over 8mths. Took my ast injection in Dec. Thought I’d get my period jan this year but no show. It’s been 6months no period. I’ve just turned 40. I have severe endo....whilst not getting my period has been great, I’m really worried I might be in menopause. Has anyone experienced that same and got period? We are desperate to have a baby. Has that shipped sailed for us? We are seriously thinking about using donor eggs. What are the chances of success? Has anyone been through the same?
Please help....

I had a prostrap injection (just one) to start a medicated FET last year but then pre cancerous cells were found and I never got any further in the cycle to ‘restart’ my cycles. After 4 months they hadn’t started back up again so my clinic tested my hormones and said nothing was happening so they gave me some pills to take for a week and then by the next week my period had started and I’m back to being regular as clockwork. I think the prostrap can really mess with things and can range for women how long until restart. Perhaps Your GP could prescribe the tablets? I think they are quite a common tablet used for other cycle regulation things too but the name escapes me sorry!! Xx
Hi KC-UK. So sorry to hear that you are feeling so low just now. Unfortunately The prostap can have that effect on you, but hopefully it is settling your endometriosis down. Using an egg donor might be the way forward for you, as you reflect on the age of the donor. It is a wonderful way to conceive, should you wish to try it, but do seek some implications counselling beforehand, so you fully understand what is involved. Obviously, I wish you well whether you try with your own eggs or go for the donor. Thinking of you. Diane
