During my first FET & after my miscarriage I put on over a stone in weight so I have been trying to loose it before my next transfer.
I have lost 12lbs so far by increasing my exercise (just long walks once or twice a week) and also eating no more than 1200 calories per day (of balanced foods).
I have started the ball rolling now for my second FET. I was wondering if it is healthy / safe to remain eating a reduced calorie diet?
Thanks in advance!

Hi, I don't think there is an exact answer, but if you are eating nutritious foods and taking your multi-vitamins you should be fine! Personally, a few days before embryo transfer and for the 2ww I would relax the diet a bit just to be safe though. I have PCOS and insulin resistance so for me I just try and watch my sugar / carb intake during my cycles, which is what my doctor recommends. Best of luck to you xx
you need to reach certain weight after your pregnancy if you can't reach that goal then your baby can't survive.... Have minimum requirement calories for pregnant women.... You can have calorie control diet until FET transfer.... But after transfer you are considered pregnant as they are transferring an embryo... It's ok to gain weight during pregnancy and she'd those in gym after delivery.have healthy diet which gives you calories and won't give you excess weight. Definitely go to a dietician now and have a prenatal diet plan.
I have the same question kind of. I have been doing slim fast for nearly 2 weeks to try and lose weight as I am also over weight and wanted to be smaller for transfer. I am losing weight slowly like 2kg or so so far.
I have my prostrap injection next week and I am not sure when to stop the milkshakes. I am also eating around 1200 calories l. It’s like 2 x shakes meal replacements (breakfast and lunch l), one meal at dinner and then 3 x 100 cal snacks.
I was thinking that I would stay on it at least until the start of July as my transfer date is estimated to be around July. For me I am not worried about the number of calories just these milkshakes because of the amount of protein and sugar in them. Make sure your getting lots of iron and protein in your meals.
If it was not for transfer then I would probably stay on it for a long time but I want to come off this diet 3-4 weeks before transfer day. Then I would probably do what your doing and just eat healthy meals within a low cal range. I might increase it to around 1300-1400 calories though and try to do more work outs it walks during that time.
After transfer I will stick with healthy eating but make sure I am having at least 1500 calories a day. Ask your doctor about that for after transfer. When is your transfer date? I am sure you are fine to stay as you are for at least 2-3 weeks before it.
Just an update on this I spoke to my consultant today told him about my weight loss from eating 1200kcals a day and asked if I could carry this on.
He said it was safe for me to carry it on throughout the transfer and 1200 kcals during the early stages of pregnancy is also safe.
Obviously I am aware it might be different for other people but I am glad about this. My goal was to get my BMI below 30 which it is now but ideally before my transfer (estimated for mid August) I would love to loose more weight.
