Last time my husband has a semen analysis his sperm count came back as 12 Million is this considered low? I’ve searched online and it says anything under 15 million is considered low but the doctors haven’t mentioned nothing and his morphology is 1% anyone got any advice or tips on how we can increase this or if anyone has gone through something similar xx

Hello xx my husband has just been diagnosed with low motility low morphology and abnormal shapes, since finding out I have started giving him vitamins (vitamin c , male supplement, multivitamin, zinc) my gp told me that vitamin c is proven to help sperm weather it will do any change we will have to see but it’s all worth a try! Also you may get people recommending expensive supplements but when I have researched these the ingredients are almost the same as some high street brands and less money.. he also has started wearing baggy pants as he used to wear ck and they are quite tight, and he normally loves sitting in front of our heater witch he has stoped! It’s all worth a try to make a difference! Hope this helped <3 xxxx
We had the same problem with morphology and my husband was given proxceed to take. Takes about 3 months to show any signs of effect but he was re tested after 4 months and it has increased significantly. Making him live a bit of a healthier lifestyle helped also x
As a midwife & fertility awareness educator For 39 yrs I have researched & had success with Clients taking vitamin B12 Suppliment which improves fertility ,prevents miscarriage & increases sperm count From 20 million to 100 million .This I believe was using a methyl B12 spray or Sublinguals suppliments .
My boyfriend's sperm count is low (about 1 mill./ml, if I am not mistaken), and this led to our inability to have children. We've been TTC for a year but always get bfn. We went to the Dr and learned that I am ok and he is not. Now we need to do some tests to did out what happened and what to do next.
I think you should find a good doctor who can accurately consult you and prescribe the correct treatment. And everything will be alright then.
12 million is on the low side but not THAT low - if my hubby could get his up to 12 million we would be rejoicing! He's usually 3-5 million which is why we need IVF, at one point he managed to get up to 8 million and the consultant said it was not impossible that we might manage a natural pregnancy with that level (didn't happen though).
Pls try proxeed plus for Men, two sachets a day for three months. It helped us tremendously, we normally buy it on Amazon online. My husband sperm motility /morphology was 0 to 1% with low sperm count. All the best.
Hi there, my husband's sperm analysis results have always come back on the low side, and came to find out by a Urologist that he has Varicocele on both testicles causing low count, motility and morphology. So it may be worth booking him a consultation with a Urologist to find out the cause.
Saying that, vitamins have definitely helped my husband as per his recent results, so have him take a good daily supplement. And ensure he keeps it cool down there, so avoid hot baths, showers, exercise such as cycling, wear airy pants, etc.
Hey, my husband does have varicocele on the left side, he was seen at the hospital and had a scan, they said it wasn’t big and the doctor said he doesn’t think that it could be the cause for the results of the semen analysis however I’m not completely on side with this, as he has had pain in the same side, he went to the doctors again and it was checked again and they said everything was ok. I’m debating whether to go back again to the doctors once Covid calms down and get it seen again xx
Yep, think it'll be a good idea to get a second/third opinion on the varicocele as male factor infertility isn't really placed much importance by the doctors.
We initially discovered my husband had varicocele when we first tried to conceive a few years ago, the doctors ignored it and although we conceived naturally after 9 months of trying, the varicocele has gotten worse (grade 3) which we recently discovered as we are trying for our second for almost 2 years now. Now we are deciding whether we should go ahead with the surgery to repair the varicocele but whats holding me back is that its not 100% guaranteed and will have to wait up to 6 months to see results.
