I know there’s been a few posts already about this so apologies for me asking but just want some advice specifically for my situation.
I’m 37 had 6 failed IUIs in 2019 and was about to start round 1 of IVF when lockdown kicked in. I have underactive thyroid so take thyroxine & I have low ovarian reserve. Obviously with age against me and low number of follicles I want to give myself the best chance possible.
I’ve asked my NHS clinic advice about supplements before but they just say to take folic acid. On reading some information online I have bought the following:
* omega 3 fish oil
* DHEA hormone balance capsules
* Coenzymated B2
* Co-Q10
I would be grateful if anyone has been in a similar situation and has taken any of these if you could share some benefits with me. Had anyone’s clinic asked them to take these? What are the benefits?
Huge thanks in advance and hope all you lovely ladies are surviving at the moment. Hoping for good news from my clinic soon.

Hey. I had poor egg quality and quantity not sure if you have the same also - looking on your thread not sure let me know and I can Dm you a list. First round IVF totally failed No eggs and second Had 4 frozen and my baby girl Xx
Can I ask were you taking all your extra supplements your first time? My problem is my clinic will not support the use of them at all. I once took dhea off my own back and it was my worst cycle ever so am so wary
No I didn’t take anything first time around. Second time I had 17 pills a day including the dhea. I don’t think clinics will endorse anything really other than advising and that was he told me to take and the dosage.
Did you need the dhea what amount Did you take? Ccx
Hi that’s the problem my clinic will not even advise it. I took 75mg I think of dhea plus ubiquinol anyway the cycle failed completely no transfer. I also put it down to them changing me from gonal f to Menopur which I had never been on before. However as I was 43 it could’ve also been age related. Further research tells me only to take dhea of you have diminished ovarian reserve. My FSH was deemed normal and most cycles I have 2-3 viable embryos. I have one last chance as due to complaining about them changing my drugs without much explanation and having a bad response well they have offered a replacement cycle. So about to start as soon as get a phone call. Am taking ubiquinol, folic acid and vitamin d but thinking of adding in royal jelly as heard it’s helpful ?
Hayy rainbowdreams82. I had 2 failed IVF and one miscarriage I have been told by my specialist to take omega3 and folic Acid then I came around a supplement called “fertility smart “ have seen a lot of good reviews about this supplement .. lot of people recommend to take it if ur trying naturally or going through IVF it really helps .. I m only taking them for 3 weeks so let’s see ..
I bought them online and me and hubby take 2 a day .. I soo far can see the difference it made my period on time this month soo very hopefull. I ordered 3 months both for him and her if u buy 3 months supply there is an offer u can buy them a bit cheaper.. x
Hi, can anyone point me towards some scientific evidence that all these supplements work? My clinic refuse to support my use of taking anything other than vitamin d and folic acid. They will not recommend expensive supplements as they state ‘ no studies showing they make any difference’. I am 44 & about try my last shot at a brother or sister for my son. To be honest when it worked for me I was only taking folic acid but am so much more aware of my age now and obviously want to take anything that will help. I Am taking ubiquinol
