So, me and my hubby are desperate for a baby. Hubby has had a few sperm analysis test done, he has low sperm count and morphology. We have been advised that ICSI is the way forward.
We are starting the process through the NHS but I am very impatient and I am not going to lie, desperate!!! So we are looking for clinics in the UK and would even consider going abroad.
We live in Sussex but we dont mind travelling. We have had online consultation with ABC (they are quite cheap to others which has its pros and cons I guess).
We are looking for recommendations and stories really. It is hard staying positive but positive is what you've got to be!!!
Thanks everyone

Hi, hope you hear from the NHS soon or decide on a clinic if you choose to go down the private route. I am in Windsor, uk so my clinic are quite small and don't cover your area so can't help there but just wanted to recommend proxeed for men, it's a supplements you can buy online, it's to improve sperm quality, motility and I think morphology. My partner took this after our consultant recommended it after a terrible 1st round and I'm now nearly 20 weeks after round 2. They say it's good to be on it for at least 3-6 months so might be worth while starting on something sooner rather than waiting, if you havnt already.
Just wanted to +1 for Proxeed as it made a big difference for my hubby too! We did switch to Impryl when that was launched though as it’s a tablet rather than a sachet and it had the same impact x
Hi Kibbo, can I ask how do you know the proxeed worked? I'm in two minds as it's so expensive!! But I've read really good reviews. My husband has very low sperm, motility and morphology. We've got 3 frosties thankfully and waiting for FET but thinking whether he should take proxeed anyway x
My hubby did his sperm sample and the results weren’t great, poor motility was the main one but the other areas weren’t great either. We waited three months to start our first cycle so he could take Proxeed and get the effects of it and on my egg collection day his sample was miles better!
On my second cycle, he was travelling a lot and wasn’t taking it religiously and his sample that time was terrible.
For our fourth cycle we switched to Impryl as were told by our consultant it was as effective as Proxeed and we had a much better sample again xx
My husband been on Menopur for 3 months, his sperm improved so much - from 13mil to 33mil and even more after that but I cannot remember the exact number 🤨close to 60 mil anyway. It was a long way until doctor decided to prescribe this treatment to him.
We haven’t been successful yet but is worth to ask your consultant about this, maybe it will work for you.
Hi, I hope it’s not much longer for you to hear from the nhs clinic! What I will say is from our first consultation with our clinic to starting our first cycle was only 5 months. We had quite a few appointments to get things going so just be prepared for that! We had icsi also due to poor sperm morphology and low ovarian reserve, we got 5 embryos, 1 transferred which is now a 5 month old baby girl and 4 Frosties. Good luck to you on your journey 🙏🏼 X
We have a similar story we found out that my partner has a low count and was told to take vitamins he’s taking well man vitamins and to increase his zinc intake. We were due to have our initial consultation just before lockdown which was cancelled. Last week we had our consultation and were told that all being well we could look to start our treatment August time with the NHS. We were debating private or not because of how long the NHS might take but for now we’ve decided to stick with NHS.
Hi I just wanted to say I’m in West Sussex and chose the agora in hove for our NHS treatment. There was no waiting time and I was seen within weeks of my referral and started treatment a few weeks after that. There may be a slight backlog due to covid but there will be whether you choose NHS or private, we are super lucky in this area with wait times. Where have you been referred to for treatment? We had a fresh round and 2 frozen with no success our last round was ICSI and I’m now 29 weeks
