I was due to have a small polyp removed before FET in April before this all kicked off. I know fertility treatment is hoping to resume very soon but I was wondering if anyone had heard or knew if these types of surgery will be going ahead too? I’m worried that it won’t be so even if fertility treatment starts up again we’ll still be delayed waiting for this 😫 xxx

I would have thought there would be a longer delay on this unfortunately as it’s an NHS procedure and I don’t think hysteroscopies are classed as a fertility treatment, at least in the same sense that IVF is.
Have you been told you need to have it removed before you have your FET? I ask because I have a polyp and I went ahead with my fet as it wasn’t in the way of anything and mine was successful x
Thanks KiboXX, my first FET failed as they left it in so they were keen to remove it this time. So I think I’d rather go with that, although so impatient to crack on I don’t know if it would be better just to leave it 😖 xx
Hi Millbanks. I would imagine it will still go ahead as it was ordered to be done before your FET. Check with the clinic, but as it is a minor procedure, I can't imagine you would need to wait. Good luck! Diane
Hi there, not sure situation with your work and if you have private insurance but I managed to get my polyp removed privately through my work insurance. I had suffered from painful and heavy periods and I asked my doctor to write a letter in relation to my situation which had been going on for as long as I can remember and they accepted. I then had this removed 6 weeks post first consultation so if you have work insurance might be worth checking this as an option to get done privately if you don’t want to pay private.
That’s a good thought actually. I do have private insurance through work, it’s more a case of if these types of procedures are taking place now that staffing and resources are diverted to covid patients?! 🤷🏼♀️ Xx
