bulging painful vaginal varicose veins in pregnancy

hi everyone, got a quick question!

I'm 14 weeks 4 days pregnant and have noticed a large vaginal varicose vein. its quite painful also! is there any tips out there to help relieve the pain, I called my midwife and she said its quite normal its down to hormones! any tips would be very much appreciated.

Hi lorraine. Oh that's not nice! Yes, unfortunately it does happen and not much you can do.except for rest with your feet up. Try wearing a thick "old-fashioned" sanitary towel in your pants to push and give you some support. Fortunately, they will go once you've had baby. Good luck! Diane
