So pretty much since a few days after transfer I've been getting lower back pain. I got my bfp Saturday and still getting the pain. It tends to start more in the afternoon around 2pm/3pm then hang around for most of the rest of the day. Is it just a result of the pregnancy and things making space for baby or should I be concerned? I'm guessing I'm not allowed to use a hot water bottle on it at only 4+5?

Lower back pain in early pregnancy
Hey, I believe that’s normal. I have had it too on an off. Around the same time 2ish. I do not have it now though. Not had if for the past two days but it’s and early sign of pregnancy definitely. Keep the faith and don’t worry. I am not worried about it either x
It's normal hun, yes you can use hot water bottle just make sure it's covered not touching your skin xxx
I had this too, it’s eased off now at 6 weeks. Our nurse said twinges, cramps, back pain etc were all normal. I suspect it’s our growing uterus! Warm (not hot) baths helped me 😘 xx
It’s totally normal don’t worry it’s due to your ligaments muscles and bones become weaker and ‘more “flimsy”
Congratulations! I had back pain too, still do (I'm now 8 weeks 4 days). xx
I had back pain with my first bfp too. Everyone said it was normal. It’s a worrying time isn’t it? Hope you’re able to feel a bit more confident soon xx
I'm awaiting a call from the nurses at my clinic to confirm if I can use a hot water bottle so will ask them if it's something I need to get checked out. But you ladies have put me at ease that it's common. I don't like to moan as I'm happy to be having symptoms but it can be so uncomfortable I'm wondering whether I need physio
My clinic had said it was ok on my back but yes best to wait and see what your clinic say xx
So my clinic have said I can use the hot water bottle and paracetamol but they don't think it's pregnancy related and think I've damaged it somehow (even though I've spent the last 3 weeks not doing anything that could aggravate it)
They told me to call my gp and luckily my new gp surgery are on the ball and called me back straight away to get me in. Sat waiting now - slightly nervous but sure will all be ok. I personally feel it is pregnancy related after what all the ladies on here have experienced but we'll see
Let us know what gp says hun. Hope all is well 💗🤗😘
Thank you. Doctor did a thorough checkover of my back, stomach and urine test to rule out urine infection. He said all was fine so he agrees that he thinks it pregnancy related muscles, ligaments etc stretching and moving. He said that as I'm getting it this early on in pregnancy that I'm likely to get it throughout so he's given me some exercises to do to strengthen it but he said not to do any yet until after my first scan at least. He said I can use hot water bottles but that just takes away the pain so advised me to use ice instead as that helps the problem too and he said I can take paracetamol too but I'm going to avoid taking pills as much as possible. Relieved it's nothing bad and is just my body making way for baby which fills me with comfort even if I am in pain with it!
I knew it would be the stretching from hormones relaxing things. Gosh you'd think these clinics would know more about pregnancy than they let on.
Glad your reassured now hun. Rest up and enjoy your ice pack ❄ I couldn't bare ice in this cold
💗🤗😘
Glad to hear all is normal and well. I thought it was pregnancy related too as it was with mine but it’s always a good idea to get it checked out xx
AllWeNeedIsluv no chance I'm icing it tonight I'm freezing! Currently under a blanket with the fire on. It's easier to cope with it at home as I can lay down.
Thanks Tugsgirl - I feel like I'll be needing regular reassurance too. I did think it was pregnancy related but because my clinic said it wasn't it worried me. I guess they aren't used to dealing with pregnant people past 7 weeks so don't know as much as doctors on pregnancy perhaps
Glad you got a thorough check over from the doctor and you feel reassured. Do you mind if I ask you if you had any other symptoms during your 2ww? I’ve been just have lower back pain (similar to when my period is about to start), it started after a few days after transfer and it’s been on and off since. Other than just been bloated. I test tomorrow so a bit nervous but hoping back pain is a good sign xxx
Back pain, bloating and some pains around implantation were my symptoms plus tiredness. Fingers crossed for tomorrow I hope to see a bfp post from you
