Tips on how to get ready for IVF while waiting.

So the same as a lot of other people my IVF has been cancelled for the foreseeable...I’m trying to use the time to get my body ready for the IVF while we’re waiting.

I’m taking the well women vitamin along with CoQ10, vitamin E and some fish oil.

I’m also doing the castor oil packs after my period until I ovulate.

Plus of course trying to eat healthy and exercise (struggling giving up the Diet Coke 😬).

I’ve got the other half taking the well man vitamin and the CoQ10.

Is anyone doing anything else at the moment to maximise their chances?

If I feel like I’m using this time for good it makes it all seem a little easier somehow xxx

Hi Joy35,

I'm in the same boat as you...waiting for IVF treatments to start up again. Was due to have my first cycle this month - had prepared for it mentally and emotionally, so I was very disappointed when was told it was cancelled! But as you say, I'm trying to use my energy to prepare my body for when treatment cycles do start up again.

I'm taking the pregnacare vitamins, and have started eating more protein like salmon, lentils, beans etc. I'm sure your diet coke isn't too bad - I struggle sometimes with the biscuits!

I usually do exercise classes at the gym but since they've been closed I have been trying to do exercise at home using online videos (takes a lot of motivation sometimes!) - There's also a live online fertility yoga class this week that I've signed up to do too.

I do feel since we've been stuck at home that I do feel a bit more relaxed - sounds odd with everything happening around us but I'm quite a homely person and being at home suits me just fine! Let's just hope this 'relaxing' pays off!

Hi Polly.

Oh the fertility yoga sounds really good. I’ll try and find it online.

We have actually been ok as well. We are working on the house and we fostered a dog. So spending time training her so that she can hopefully find a forever home once this is all over.

Usually I travel a lot for work. So hoping this staying put and not changing time difference will help my body.

I’ve cut out the Diet Coke but means I drink more tea and you need a biccie with your cuppa right?! Haha

Hopefully the ivf starts up again soon and we will be in the best shape possible xxx

Hi Joy. My dietary advice is as follows. Carbohydrates - Wholegrain bread and wholemeal pasta, oatmeal, brown rice. All fresh vegetables especially raw or steamed. Over boiling rids them of vitamins and minerals, pineapple juice, apricots, potatoes, all fruit and honey, beans, chickpeas and lentils. Protein - Organic meat if possible, poultry, fish, Milk and hard cheese, nuts and seeds. Fat - Extra virgin olive oil and sunflower oil, avocado and peanut butter, mackerel, sardines, nuts (especially Brazil and walnuts), seeds, sweet corn and sweet potatoes. The things to avoid are too much sugar, processed foods, ready meals, butter, ice cream etc. A little is OK, but not all the time. Drink plenty of water and only a little tea and coffee if feeling deprived. Cut right down or right out – alcohol and smoking. Oh and don’t forget the Folic Acid and Vitamin D! Some exercise too if you can. Hope this helps and all the best. Diane

Hi Diane,

Thanks for that. Been shopping and got in what you suggested. No excuses at the moment as there’s plenty of time for cooking and exercising.

Hope you and you family are safe and well xxx

Hi... Me too same here...I usually take fish oil, vitamin D, prenatal vitamin and my metformin. Thanks for Corona as I got some time to focus on my hormones by doing detox until my ivf starts. And no food from outside as it's scary to buy and hence no burgers and no cokes too...i had coke cans at my home but I threw them down the garbage as i badly needed a baby so m avoiding all unhealthy foods...

I even threw mayoniese, soy sauce, cheese, frozen stuff. all white things like flour, sugars. Stopped buying white rice also. For who all trying to have baby just if u want to avoid all stuff the best thing is TO NOT BUY. I'm saying it by experience. When I stopped buying all those stuff, whenever I go shopping I automatically avoiding white stuff and m used to eat all healthy. Hope it helps... All we need is 👶 BABY!!! I'm waking up. At 6:30..taking my thyroid medication and threadmil for 40mins...yoga for blocked tubes and ovulation. Having everything on time and sleeping early as possible. Hope it helps anyone.
